It's never not an option. 100%of all games played as UKF past 5 min has base 25lbs primed and ready to go. Usf need to get to late game but they too Always have access to the arty no matter what commander so their reliance is very much highlighted. Could the 25lbs use a buff? For sure, but should they be as good as the ml20 or lefh? No sir and For the same reason that the schwere shouldn't be as good as the bofors. You only get 100 pop so if I have to pick a doctrine and take up a portion of that 100 to have arty it should be better than some that requires no commitment nor a portion of your army. And @hoverbacon 50 fuel is nearly 2x the amount of fuel the brit pay to tech up and unlock their 1st howitzer so... In: COH2 Balance

With a much-needed vet tuning and possibly making the Mech Truck repair pios not exorbitantly overpriced to move some jobs off the Sturms and it should be alright. I think a vet tuning is a big thing that sturms need. Vet 1 is very... Eastern front and a small target size reduction would go a long way (maybe vet 1 brings them down to the same size as assault Tommy's?) they have alright vet but it's pretty hard to get. Splitting the vet 2 rec ac and maybe splitting the vet 4 accuracy bonus into vet 2 could help them)(as well as flame nade) In: COH2 Balance

Alternatively the Axis (or Soviet player) picks a doctrine builds a howitzer using precious fuel and manpower, delaying armour and/or possibly teching and the enemy never presents a juicy target. Where the brit player would be out quite literally nothing because the howitzer were a perk of teching (and how DARE they not be up to the standards of a doctrinal unit that costs resources) and that whole time they were Or were not firing they have been eating a small amount of manpower in upkeep. The 25lbs are not as flexible because they are not as dynamic they are not a choice that locks anything out they are not a part of your army. This is in part why counter battery was so OP in advanced cancer regiment. They are ALWAYS availible and ALWAYS an option that doesn't impact any other choices. It's on map but don't make the mistake of balancing it like a true on map that costs population and fuel. In: COH2 Balance

Smoke is a necessity so much so that the usf were given a whole new unit specifically to give them the flexibility to have it without spending fuel. One of the cruxes of brit design is how hard it is to get fuel. The leig getting smoke was a long time coming and a design fail not having it to begin with. And regardless it very much falls under buffing an underperfoming unit which is different than adding a new one. And flame barrage is a doctrinal ability so idk where you are going with that... That's a interesting proposal, what would be the malus for a truck deployed close to a VP which are usualy at the middle of the map? And how is it measured? Sectors? Actual range? What are the intervals? Does it tell the player? Does 1 range too far end up bringing it down a whole AT shell sooner? What about angles? We didn't even get to play test the last patch I doubt there would be this much work going into changing an unbroken feature In: COH2 Balance

Can you remind me where th mortar came from? There's a huge HUGE difference in having a unit buffed to fill its role and a unit added to add diversity In: COH2 Balance
