You could slot the puma in tier 2 with an AEC tier research choice to balance timing.
But if you stuck them in T3 you would never see a puma again, stug just massively outperforms it. Command P4 is fine, if anything it's a good advert for what the british command ability should be rather than a recon spam device

Puma is light vehicle, no light should require any tech, most of call-in lights already arrive extremely late compared to stock counterparts.
CP4, while med, is not exactly spammable nor its going to help you at all against other mediums, so its justified there as well. CP4 also just got nerfed a bit.
OST especially doesn't have a reason to have vehicles tied to tech. T2 is too soon? Require BP2? Still too soon? Require t3 ect. Plu being tied to tech ensures it arrives exactly in time with its counterparts, or sooner should you get the map control. For us and okw we've already seen that units can be locked by tech but non discriminatory to which one by being build able in t0 |
ost sniper should have a higher firing rate, a it has 6 man squads to shoot at, you shoot a gren, it can no longer recrew team weapons. Snipers ruin earl;y game infantry fights, cause you to get frustrated and over extend. Any nerfs, or outright removal from the game I would agree with. Just my opinion.
I don't disagree the OST sniper should shoot faster, OST always has the smallest squads so anything less would be unacceptable but paying the exact same for less is equally unacceptable. Keep in mind that along with the OST sniper the player always has access to a MG and always has access to a snare (well... Like they have to build grens but... Like it's there...) OST sniper is better and naturally accessed and supported.
Soviet sniper is a bigger risk than before but also a MUCH bigger reward. Double sniper will still force retreat and mortars aren't going to help much only thing is now when that second model drops a 3rd might follow if you don't slam retreat quick enough. |
Two man soviet snipers surrounded by guards rifle's with ptrs are pretty much un-counter able unless the soviet player really messes up. And even if you would force the retreat on the two man team, with the appropriate counter chasing it, it still would not die. Now it can be counter sniped, atleast it can be countered by wehrmacht players in the form of their own sniper.As with OKW, which does not have snipers, have cheap aggressive 5 man infantry which can aggressively push through it.
1 man team is a good change that allows wehrmact to actually stand a chance against it on an open map.
Thing is, a sniper surrounded by guards is 360+330(i feel like it got raised but don't recall)x as many as it takes to be "surrounded" so let's say it's just 2 guards that's like 1000mp in 1 single place. Soviet lack bunkers or any means of holding so they are practically giving you the map in order to spearhead you. Now it's arguably worse because the increased sniping speed means they can possibly keep you well enough bled that getting out your own sniper to counters snipe it is going to be an uphill battle as it is.

I agree. In addition, stormtroopers have access to a sprint ability at vet 0, something commandos only get at vet 2. This on top of them being much more effective at range and scaling much better makes this seem like not a good idea.

What about:
2 sturms get mp40s
Knock ~50mp off their price due to initial reduction in power (allows them to be replaced easier and lessens the burden of their many many jobs)
Make the other STGs either returned at vet 1 and no other changes or a muni upgrade that's exclusive with the other upgrades but gives them a target size reduction, something befitting an assault unit, something like Tommys and panzer grens 0.8 RA.
Move the flame nade to them and have it availible as soon as the munitions are had- no tech or anything. |

Actually there was. If you look at the initial match up of EFA first thing you will notice is that one side has very durable 6 man squads and the other has small 4 man squads. Now you see here's where things get tricky: one side focuses durability and the other DPS. if yuu looked at the snipers you would see that one was really durable and the other was a killing machine. If you flipped their roles however (making the OST sniper the durable one and the Soviet sniper the killy murder machine with AOE stun rounds) you would see EXACTLY what the good reason was. You would have 1 sniper murdering too much and too fast while also being very very vulnerable to things like LMG42s and the other would be invincible but also useless due to large squads and the bleed associated.
The snipers were not meant to fight each other. The Soviet sniper is a tech choice and the OST sniper can be selected at opportunity. If the Soviet builds t2 you as the OST have the power to fist his static asshole with a massacre machine. If they go with the "mobile but also counter the enemy sniper" tier maybe building a sniper isn't the best bet..
Was the Soviet sniper over performing? Yes it was. Was sucking away not only its flavor but also its balancing aspects ( now it kills faster, not as fast as the OST one of course, but faster still and could be busted down by a good no Brainerd lmg upgrade) a good choice? Nooo. It needed to be made more expensive and it's counters buffed that's it. |
Su76 pen nerf was going to be such a good change stupid that they would accept status quo THERE but change the many year long sniper.. |
The extra 40 damage would help in a team game where somebody is using su76, ptrs' m42 troll guns, bounced zooks, an il-2 strike, greyhound, Stuart, valentine, iirc ml-20s do deflection damage as well... I mean in a vacuum it's not going to make a difference but hey, war is hell |
