Where the British one gets arty strike (ahem decorative base howitzes sitting there) and the axis gets the increased accuracy plus return the increased vet speed (all okw commanders with it embody the veteran armour trait) Then British tanks can be balanced without the idea of "what about the extra accuracy they can get by default with literally no alternative option at any point of ever!" and axis tanks have a much more attractive alternative to the pintle: actually getting them sweet late levels of vet... I did say Fastest in class rof but I'll change it for clarity. More to the topic, BEST AT heavy is absolutely a great title,especially given osts current AT line up. It'll feel less dramatic for okw given the plethora of AT options of all sizes and shapes but for ost the tiger will remain an attractive choice. If it's AI feels a bit lacking, the various MGs can be looked at a la t34 (which, imo should be the prime source of AI for ALL tanks due to reliability and predictability but I digress) In: COH2 Balance

It should be buffed more and become a call-in like Tiger or Elefant. StuG E should become the regular assault-arty. It would have been a fine stock unit if the spirit of t4was kept. T4was supposed to be a siege breaking tier. Powerful units that you can tech up to and roll out when the game grinds to a draw. The problem is they wanted these siege breaker units to be more accessible and stupidly, an alternative to the standard units so Concessions had to be made. Disregard for design considerations make balance redesigns a messy ordeal. In: COH2 Balance

And the fact that none of them have camo means its harder for them to pick their engagements. Usf elites make that up with durability. Neither are well designed, but it's a symptom of poorly designed mainline literally designed to be good in every single scenario they could find themselves in. Both WFA factions are guilty of this. Usf have powerful infantry you can't kill and okw has infantry you don't have time to kill because they are going to wipe you or burst down models faster than you can fight back with. All the bluster about shocks and guards, at least they have CLEAR strengths and weaknesses (range, mobility, bleed, lack of forward healing ect) Edit: recon paras have camo even with Thompsons don't they? Others have already said they are Ober level infantry at 2 CP with stealth, what else can be asked for??? And they have a easier to use DPS curve than obers. Or was that g43 pfusiliers? Oh wait, both of them are great at ALL ranges. Why does OKW need to have so many units that are great at all ranges? Even volks can be argued to be great at all ranges. In many ways the StG upgrade > LMG42 because, u can fire on the move, easier to use dps curve (good close range as well), and u never drop them. The only OKW squad that ISN'T suitable for a-move blobbing are sturms. And the only OKW inf that need ANY SKILLS AT ALL to use are sturms and jaegers. OKW is the defacto NOOB FACTION. As much as many hated the Brits for their cancer for so long, at least their infantry needed to hug cover to trade effectively in the early and midgame. USF riflemen aren't cost effective long range and will bleed if you try to even close the gap even just to midrange. Cons have been very balanced until the most recent overbuffs. Even penal cheese back in the day was nowhere near as bad as JLI overbuff or Falls overbuff or even the OKW cultists that only use one doctrine in their loadout - Grand Offensive. When you have core infantry that leaves little to be desired your elite infantry needs to defy balance or be left by the wayside. ISF has the same issue with rangers and paras needing to be beyond amazing meanwhile the other factions, the ones that are not designed with do everything at all ranges on the move with a single infantry type have elite infantry that have unique feels and roles. When your infantry can already do everything you could want it to the only way to have "elite" infantry is for them to do it better. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: IR Halftruck Infantry Detection needs to be fixed20 Mar 2020, 23:03 PM Jump back to quoted post20 Mar 2020, 22:17 PMMr. Someguy Mark Target would be really cool if the spotlight tracks the enemy tank and gives an accuracy bonus to attacking units. id like something like that as well. buffs and debuffs instead of a passive thing that some people can abuse and others cant appreciate. could have a mark target type ability (i preffer the usf version than the soviey version and they we also dont risk overlap with the CPanther) a debuff for infantry (shine the light in their eyes!) that slows them and decreases accuracy a los ability maybe an ability that decreases the effect of enemy cover if possible? (increased target size to units in cover kinda thing?) there are many great ways to have the IRHT cool and useful and only as strong as the player using it makes it. it could be a great boon on the field and a great drain on the economy bringing back the okw resource starved feel. Continue like that guys, you're the best. Likley has something to do with the lack of fuel cost AND large AOE AND same AUTOFIRE range as other mortars PLUS the superior barrage. These knobs are arguing about an ability with a cool down and now you are comparing it to something that pumps out wipes all game long with no input... AUTOFIRE=/= counter barrage. If you are lacking the mental capacity to understand that I'm not even sure how you managed to even navigate this far into a forum. Every unit with a problematic AUTO FIRE has been nerfed. 120mm, mortar pit, literally all mortars actually... All while this ABILITY that BARRAGES a single area every now and again (not this is not a constant bleed, like AUTO FIRE) In: COH2 Balance
