That would allow infatry fights, the better designed part of the game, to last longer and the shock value of vehicles could be decreased since their window of opportunity would be increased. I don't know if its stronger, but mp40s have significantly better dps at point blank. Given that they have really good camo, I'd rather take that and get behind the squad I want to use tactical assault on with mp40s than do it frontally with stgs (I'm taking a bit of a leap since the only reason tactical assault would be better with stgs is if you used it in a traditional infantry engagement). It's all about ambush and cutting off retreat paths now, and I'd rather have massive dps at close range for that. Tactical movement should be used in frontal fights only under specific circumstance(especially for ST since the drop of DPS due to entity loss is very high) due to the penalties. The ST ST44 could also flank enemy units and use tactical movement the same way, only they would have higher DPS at longer range and could get wipes on retreating infatry at longer ranges. The main issue was the 100 mu investment for the ST44. In: COH2 Gameplay

There are hundreds of changes in the new patch notes, it was just forgotten about. It will be in the official notes once the patch goes live. It is an undocumented changes thus it qualifies as ninja chance which I also put in parenthesis. Relic has long tradition of not including all the changes in the patch notes. My point is simple pls includes all changes in the notes, undocumented changes are frustrating. In: COH2 Balance

They get more DPS out of it yes, but the opportunities to actually use it are much less frequent. Stormtroopers can hide anywhere and catch retreating squads or ambush squads in general with maximum close range DPS using the ability. It isn't as strong on them pure DPS-wise, but they can usually use it more often and more effectively. SMG paras and ST are used differently. Tactical movement is a good ability, I am simply pointing out that it was design for Paras and they benefit more as Brick Top claimed. Now if one want to talk about ambush there is little reason to compare Paras and ST. One should compare Commandos and ST. Commandos get a grenade for more Alpha damage and speed boost (with veterancy) for ambush bonus allowing them chase to get wipes also. One has to also point out the danger in using tactical movement, if thing go sour the penalties speed and target size remain even if one retreats. All and all the ability is not bad but it certainly stronger when they had ST44 as Brick Top claimed. In: COH2 Gameplay

Just wondering because they're the more directly comparable smg since they are on a similar unit. The sten and the MP-40 have similar profiles. The Thompson has superior. I am simply pointing out that tactical movement works better for paras as Brick Top claimed since the profile of the Thompson is closer to that of an assault rifle. In: COH2 Gameplay
