The was time during these 6 years when conscripts spam was valid strategy and was used frequently even without ppsh. And it was also stale meta. Thread: UKF Hammer/Anvil rework suggestion.16 May 2019, 17:22 PM I have suggested similar changes a long time ago. Actually the hole anvil/hammer option could help balance the faction. For instance one could remove the cover mechanism and make it available to anvil only while hammer would get a 5 member. Hammer could give access to bren with assault rifle profile while anvil vickers K with Lmg profile. Emplacement could be more durable and/or have less pop with anvil and so on. In: COH2 Gameplay

With your logic, what is useful should be blocked only in the commanders, let's take MG-42 from the grenadiers and put them in the commanders, because MG-42 is a real improvement. You seem to be confusing balance issues with diversity issues. If LMG42 is moved to a commander the Ostheer faction will be completely UP and will only be playable with certain commanders. The changes to Conscripts is there to increase diversity in builts and not to solve balance issues. The Soviet faction is doing quite well balance wise, since it has a number of other options besides conscripts. This stock changes should be tested vs enemy units like grenadiers and not compared with the SVT which in untested doctrinal ability. The test so far has shown that conscripts trade very well vs grenadier. In: COH2 Balance

You are comparing a stock ability with a commander ability and that simply leads to the wrong conclusions. Even osttruppenhave MG-42, and a cover-up bonus, but they are not so dependent on him because of the weapon improvement. The LMG-42 osttruppen have does not fire on the move, they need to be static to take advantage of its DPS. Osttruppen also have penalties when out of cover unlike conscripts, they are actually much more depended in cover. Finally conscripts have "ourah" and can move easier from cover to cover. Their rate of fire bonus works only in the cover and motionless, if you start moving in the cover and will give a penalty on the accuracy in motion that negates this ability. Motionless = easy target. I will continue to insist that these changes are meaningless and uncompetitive for a late game. The moving penalties applies to pretty much to all infatry and some infatry suffer more since some lmg do not even fire on on the move. There is little difference here the unit does not need be motionless. In: COH2 Balance

LOS is such a large and important mechanic that being able to remove LOS flanking routes etc just makes that mechanic redundant and ruins map design, since the most maps where designed before the Brits were introduced. The suggestion to light cover destruction makes sense. In addition imo it needs longer time to set up longer cooldown and MU cost. In: COH2 Gameplay
Thread: Infantry Sections, Upgrades, and Bolster15 May 2019, 08:29 AM I like the idea but I would actually prefer something different. Hammer and anvil become a choice one can have of each tier. For tier 0: IS cost down to 260 Picking Anvil unlocks Piat and Vickers K but leaves IS as 4 men squad. Picking Hammer unlocks Piat and Bren and squad size becomes 5. Bren now use a a profile closer to an assault rifle can be fired on the move and cover mechanism is removed. This way the player can choose if he want his infatry to be defensively or offensively oriented. As seductivecardbox pointed you underestimating pyrotechnics especially with vet 1 vision bonus. Thread: Should engis be able to destroy cover?15 May 2019, 08:21 AM R.E. engineers have the ability and for good reason. So that they can create space for emplacements. The ability is also available to Assault Engineer and will become available to pioneers in the next patch. The ability is currently op since it can clear things like reinforced wire in allot less time than it take to built and can be used to increase the view of certain houses. The time to set the explosives and the cooldown is very low while imo it should not be "free". Generally speaking the ability is very powerful and if it becomes available to more units it should be looked at. In: COH2 Gameplay
