Application of it is the same and new MP40 profile isn't bad. One has little reason to start using the ability long range. The MP-40 profile is not bad it is similar to most SMG. The Profile of the Thompson thou is superior. The difference is that the ability is far better in for Paras since: 1) It is effective at longer ranger and thus easier to wipe retreating infatry 2) The DPS drop for losing a model is far less severe In: COH2 Gameplay

Thompson paras have it since forever and it worked well on them and contrary to storms, paras can't just sneak up on you. Also, the SMGs storms use are not that low range. Only Thompson does not use the standard SMG profile with a big DPS that drop off at 15. The weapon is effective up to range 20-25. In: COH2 Gameplay

They got their cost reduced without compensation, until the SWS was made buildable instead of a free unit you get every 5 minutes, I could be wrong though it was a long time ago. The Volks'll need another 60% of a Volksgrenadier added. Assault grenadier also use the same MP-40 and cost 280 and their weapon is inferior. Now Pls stop this pointless arguing. The fact is that MP-40 in live is significantly inferior to the grease gun. Imo MP-40 Vg (and assault grenadier) in live a far less cost efficient than Assault Engineers, Cav riflemen and even PPsh conscripts. In: Lobby

It wasn't bad before, just highly situational and stuck in a off-meta doctrine. It is bad in live, compare to the grease gun, will not even mention Thompson. The buff is there probably to bring it inline with grease gun. DPS range 10/15 Grease gun 13.4/4.2 MP-40 9.85/3.3 Grease gun is x136% better at range 0-10 and x125% better at range 15. In: Lobby
