I don't think the Scott is on the same level of Lethality that a StuPa is.
Is sure is an annoying unit, that can *gasp* drop German models in a reliable way, the issue is that if you nerf it then USF stock rooster will lack sorely on maps that you simply can't use Shermans... Or in situations it's your closest alternative to lacking Rocket Artillery outside of Commanders.
Please consider that, it's a mobile mini-howitzer, it's not an assault gun.
You can't compare it to one or want it to turn into a subpar version of it, without considering how would that play out besides stuff like, I wish it stopped doing it's one job.

The original vetted riflemen from riflmen company's "elite riflemen training" abilty was different unit from normal riflemen, with different properties the same way the 250 passengers grenadiers are different unit from vanilla grenadiers. |
I am not sure why a thread about PF has been derailed to thread bout tech but I will point out the following:
1) Each faction gets a some sort of "free" stuff
2) Side tech gives the player the option to choose when and if they want to buy something
3) The game usually offers discount when someone buys bundled things
4) Tech "advantages" does not always translate to in game advantage
5) Linear teching is more restrictive
Going back to PF thing the MOD and many user have agreed that PF are currently UP for cost and they even plan to make changes to them. |
Churchill's rear armour needs to go down there is little to no reason why flanking would be so unrewarding vs Churchill.
In addition there is also little reason for stock veto 0 defensive smoke. From a design point of view it would be better is was replaced with commando smoke providing cover status to infantry but no concealment. |
Soviet T2, namely maxim, was nerfed out of the game, it really was only a matter of time before it gets equalized in cost to T1 as T1 offers superior firepower and support for along time now, you basically paid more to get less.
Ost is also hardly comparable, given the fact they have one tier extra compared to other factions(soviet T1 and T2 are equal in power, different in utilities - on paper that is and hopefully I don't need to explain why 4 soviet tiers can't be compared to 4 ost tiers) and that extra tier was underused due to cost gate, so that's too justified.
OKW tech costs aren't out of line compared to any other faction in game so no, they will not have to become cheaper, because there are no cost imbalances there.
Ostheer, Soviet, UKF and USF have tech that allow the use of all buildings, with the change to C. Panther OKW will be left with the choice between t2-t3 or t1-t3 with the first being more popular. At some point OKW overhaul will simply be inevitable.

You might want to re-read the reasons why that has happened.
Not a single one of them translates to OKW, because OKW ATG and HMG aren't exactly locked in different techs.
And with the coming patch Soviet T2 and Ostheer tech is also becoming cheaper. Eventually OKW tech will also have to become cheaper. |
Nothing prevents them from getting all trucks and in fact, they are the only faction that is rewarded with doing so by allowing super heavy to be built.
And nothing prevented USF from getting all tech and were the only faction being rewarded with 3 officers yet their tech tree was overhauled. |
I mostly agree with your post and im aware of the issues.but i still think it would not hurt to test it at least with adjusted fuel prices.mod team also switched unis when they reworked us tech and it worked out fine.
Its just unsatisfying that mech tier gets 3 good / strong units and battlegroup has 1. A proper rework of the flak ht could potentially help and the perspective of earlier obers is nice. But we still dont know the impact of earlier obers without mg34.
Maybe the new 1.3 version will help to ease the problem maybe not. But if we do a big okw rework we should be open minded for bigger changes - at least in a test version.

PFs aren't overpriced, volks were underpriced and that's about to change.
To have access to what PFs start with and aren't limited by anything but a muni cost, other factions have to pay menpower and fuel to unlock side techs, that cost is simply rolled in PFs initial cost.
PF are overpriced, with out upgrade the inferior to all infantry in their price range and with g43 they are more expensive to tech, built and upgrade than penals, yet they are not better. |
P.F is one of best designed CP 0 doctrinal units. Other CP 0 doctrinal units should follow the same example and be build able from base and starting at a similar power level with mainline infantry and have access to upgrades locked behind tech.
Having that said the unit is simply not cost efficient either it should become cheaper or it should have a power level according to each cost. |
