I think it adds a nice flavor, gives them something extra and keeps them unique defensive troops instead of assault one as opposed to vanila ones.

In fact, I do believe more upgrades should be side-grades like this one, where you get something and lose something not for better performance, but for different one.

Why HGB tho?

The number of player bring up an issue is rather irrelevant. For instance I brought the balance problem with changes to the HMG-34 which was listed as "bug fix" and had to deal with heavy opposition

and not only they fixed the issue, they even further buff the hmg-34 with veterancy buff recently.

Actually, the upgrade is meant for more emplacement centric gameplay and their maintenance, where LMG would serve them in defending from garrisoned emplacement and getting churchills back into the fight quicker. No identitiy crisis here, just incapability to identify units role.

One can buy bren for that and not suffer the penalty. Mobility nerf that comes with vicker K is simply crippling specially if one tries to use the AT grenade.

The upgrade is also rather expensive for a "support" oriented upgrade.

Why fix what isn't broken?

At this point very few things are broken yet patches still go ahead to improve the game. The argument hold no water. This change would be an improvement of the current ability.

Recovery sappers 1cp:
A decent ability

Air supply operation 2cp 125mp/80muni:
decent ability, superior to similar abilities

Designated command vehicle 2cp 75muni:
Great ability especially compared to similar abilities

Churchill Croc 9cp :
inferior to other Super heavies

Forward observation post 10cp 250mp/30fuel:
A badly designed ability as I had pointed out in preview since it simply comes too late.


Suggestions:
Croc
should be is inferior to current super heavy I am not sure with nerf to AOE.

In addition all flame weapon vehicles have DOT removed and DPS adjusted. DOT becomes either a timed ability or a "skill" shot similar to grenade.

Could become a bit cheaper or arrive earlier than in preview.

Forward observation
complete redesign of the ability. Available from CP 2-0.

Forward assembly now has 20 extra sight range and 20 extra range in barrage as passive. Can now call in a reckon plane.

Ambient building can be FO requires t2 (maybe AEC/Boffors or t3) unlock. Provides the same bonuses as FA. Extra sight/reinforcement can now call in a single strafe.


Air supply operation
Medic kit for all faction can now be loaded to HT and WC.


Designated command vehicle
all auras scale with veterancy (C. Panther style) and are broken to 2 part. A passive part with minor bonus and time one with more bonuses.

Now it's only work on LeIG18,and firestorm commander already have medic truck，change this will make this commander more strong

Actually the ability is get nerfed in the next patch...

As I have pointed in another thread the ability need some fine tunning but imo it does not need to become an off map especially since the commander already has one.

The main problem of the ability is that in order to be useful it requires to go T1 and build an leig which make the Opel less attractive.

Suggestions:
Combine with flamer for SP. Change the MP-40 into a separate unit or becoming available with no tech requirement.

Add call in mortar with incendiary barrage or add some sort of incendiary barrage to T2 unit possibly the Puma.

The Jackson performs like I'd expect a dedicated tank destroyer to at long range. I've got no complaints there.

it performing superior to most AT weapons

The problem is the Jackson also has solid performance close up, which constitutes a big increase to its 1v1 power. Fireflies and SU-85s need to play much more defensively because even a Panzer IV can kill them if it gets a good angle on them.

The Jackson's fast rotation and solid rate of fire let it brawl with mediums on even terms, allowing it to play much more aggressively. You can dive into a base to secure a kill with a Jackson. That'd be madness with an SU-85 or Firefly.

This is only part of the problem. The M36 perform great at max range and has even little trouble even if caught out of position while performing equally good.

It has the accuracy to hit even small vehicles and the penetration to penetrate heavily armored vehicles.

The design is basically flawed and on top of that it has some great AI vehicles to support like M4A3 and the Scott.

As I have pointed out the M4A3+M36 combo is simply too good leaving little room for other versions of the Sherman and little reason for one opponent to even built PzIVs.
