Panzer IV was an obsolete tank in 1942 but the German still had to lengthen its life as a main battle tank due to the lack of new tanks produced. They tried to add so many things into this old design so of course it has to cost more and not as cost effective as the T-34.
the p4 was considered slightly superior to 85 . this was an assessment that the soviet commanders made during testing according the red army handbook. in fact one of the key reasons the germans lost was they focussed to much on quality over quantity. doesnt change the fact however that the t-34 where very bad tanks. |
And i must insist you are making completely untrue statements. Without ever backing them up.
It was the Axisplayers who were always furious that their more expensive tanks could get disabled by a cheaper one ramming them. Hence why at first, they had ram only work in a straight line and not follow the target if it turned around.
Meanwhile, soviets did point out that ram didn't trigger reliably, and that T34 in tank fights was at an extreme disadvantage, being basicly almost useless vs tigers and needing a lot of help to beat a lone p4.
but everyone considered ram to be a ludicrous and stupid ability, because it basicly sacrified a tank for some nice crits, but made t34 immonilized and without weapons.
Soviet T3 being so bad against armor could hardly stand back then, and still doesn't stand that well today, when soviets are forced to chose between t3 and 4.
ram was just stupid and in some cases game breaking. and now i want no further discussion of that abomination. |
why still no patch to fix this shit?
because its not op |
Because right now it's not possible.
treat it like a maxim (and thus play defensively) and you will be fine. especially since us can get a very potent m20 out when they reach 60 fuel. the real issue at the moment is that it also comes with okw trucks that are demolishing cover and buildings |
Jonnyb does make a good point that the okw perform radically different in 2 vs 2 situations especially if the ostheer partner has luftwaffe supply doctrine. but Brachiaraidos his arguments are completely valid in a 1 vs 1 situation.
However neither unit is good enough to replace standard infantry units and they both equal. |
errm, actually, it kind of started earlier, since soviets were advancing so fast.
Even jobless military personnels were significantly inferior to the standard landser fighting since the beginning.
If i remember right, they were also drafting foreign workers into formations at some point.
But from Bagration onward, there was a noticeable decline in quality.
Well the problem with volksgrenadiers is that their quality varied a lot with some units managing to get some good solid hits on the soviets and Americans. And im just going to assume that the volks we get in the game are of the better divisions, |
Oh yeah? You found that person. I would trade fallschirm against shocks any time. Any time!
me as well. the problem of fsj is that suffer from massive overlap with the obers all the wile the obers pack more firepower and durability at long range. |
As a raw combat unit the JLI is better as a support unit the pathfinders are better. neither unit can be spammed however and need volks/rifles to work so i find the balance fine at the moment. |
Ok, so lets look at the t-34/76 and M4 sherman, they both cost almost the same, 100 vs 110.
However, for some strange reason, the sherman is better than the t-34 in every, single way.
Sherman fires faster and is more accurate slightly
Sherman HE rounds have more AOE than t-34/76. 1.1 kill radio for t-34/76, 1.4 for the sherman
sherman has slightly more armor
sherman comes with a tank destroyer in the same tier building, thus making it more flexible
sherman has smoke, non doctrinal crew repair.
I don't understand why there is such a major difference in performance between the sherman and t-34.
I think if the t-34/76 got the same AOE as the sherman it would be fine.
One thing to note that the t-34/76 did have an AOE kill radius of 1.4 meters before western front armies was released. Then the t-34/76 got a stealh nerf for some reason.
yes ignore the fact that they have around a 10 second delay every time they switch rounds making them far more taxing in micro management not to mention it greatly reduces their impact if they encounter infantry while in ap rounds and its borderline game over if they encounter a p4 while in he rounds.
give me tank liek the t-34 anytime. |
What I'm telling is not changing the bombing run at all. Just making the flares a bit less evident.
Instead of 4 flares and the landing zone being in the middle, just light ONE flare placed randomly in one point close to the designated bombing zone.
The plane will come as slowly as always, but at least the enemy player won't know exactly on which direction move to avoid the bombing strike, although he will have a rough idea of where the bombs are going to explode.
And yes, the same should be applied to Stuka Bombing Run.
how about no. we dont need fucking i win buttons period. |
