Thread: Feedback for Commander Revamppatch14 Sep 2018, 21:06 PM Regarding ostheer defensive doctrine, the STUG E (an ASSAULT GUN) really doesn't fit there. Ostruppen thematically fit in quite well (reserve troops)... Hull down made a lot more sense.. What about letting ostheer build beefed up bunkers that could say, be upgraded with all 3 features at once (mg, reinforce, medic).. For being a 'defensive doctrine' it surely lacks anything to do with 'defense'. An ability for pioneers to build a soviet style forward HQ would also make a lot of sense rather than the STUG E.. Thread: Feedback for Commander Revamppatch13 Sep 2018, 21:55 PM Regarding the STUG E, it really should require atleast battlephase 2 now. The main reason why it was nerfed to 400 health was because of the call in meta. If it doesn't require any teching, ostheer will just go back to STUG E > Tiger stalling meta again. I dont think many people realize that that metagame went out of fashion some patches ago precisely because the STUG E was pretty heavily nerfed. Back then it didin't even have it's arced fire, meaning it couldn't fire over buildings/bushes which honestly means it will be even better than before now. In: Lobby
Thread: ostheer 250 halftrack needs to be buffed28 Jan 2018, 21:39 PM Out of all the units in the game right now, this is among the most neglected and forgotten units. If not the most neglected. This thing has no MG, no reinforcement, no abilities, simply nothing. And it's outrageously expensive for what it is - an ostheer clown car. I used to find a use for this thing back when pioneers with flamethrowers did good damage whilst moving in a scout car, but now that's reduced significantly. This thing needs atleast a machine gun at the very least. But even then i fear it will still be crap. So it might need something else.. Suppresion? Something akin to the old kubelwagen. That way T1 can, at least, be somewhat self-sufficient. Otherwise, we're just setting us up for failure: - Either T1 will be too weak for 1v1, thus never used - Or, T1 will be so good in terms of AI-specialization that we will ruin teamgames (mostly because all the AT it takes to carry a T1 investment is a single AT gun, that a teammate can provide). Adding an AT option to T1 will also give us free hand to design the AI utility of the tier better, so that T1 will not be a "cheese-fast-or-lose" tier. With the new price Luchs isn't stronger or weaker than other factions' vehicles. It's a specialist AI vehicle. I am very hopeful with the balance in your hands and your team The other changes are mostly good. Just the soviet T1 is problematic. But i'm very happy you are still looking into it. On the otherhand, pansershreck panzergrenadiers are very effective againts tanks. You have to be a complete moron to lose any kind of tank to PTRS unists. Now while i do understand the developers intention here, the PTRS penal upgrade is simply not going to be used under any circumstances. PTRS at best can scare away light vehicles, you have to fuck up REALLY hard to even lose a light vehicle to PTRS. Hell, conscript AT nades are better than PTRS most of the time. Againts medium and heavy armour there is no debate, it's 100% useless. Guards were completely useless when PTRS did no damage to infantry, penal PTRS upgrade is going to be exactly the same if it doesnt do anything to infantry. What makes the panzershreck powerful is it's initial damage burst, you can fire once and retreat, and avoid taking MP losses. With PTRS you have to stand still and get shredded by the tank, taking MP losses while the tank can just repair all the damage for no cost. Hence, PTRS againts tanks is useless, because you never kill anything, only do some damage while taking heavy MP losses. M3 with ptrs penals might be ok, but since M3 flamer has been heavily nerfed and is basically useless now (doesn't do any damage), it's fallen off the meta completely. And even if M3 was viable, then you're better of getting guards for the FREE PTRS and using those munis on much more useful flamers/mines that can actually do something. I do understand where you guys are going here, but believe me, it's just not going to work. Nerfing snipers, guards, as well as penals is just going to throw soviet T1 out of the meta completely. It will be either t2 or conspam again. Either the PTRS penals need to do actual damage vs tanks, have increased range, or do damage vs infantry. Aside from that the upgrade is going to be completely useless. Other than that the changes are decent, i guess. In: COH2 Gameplay

Who's to say the characters represent WWI soldiers, or maybe the people that are playing them in the game? I'm kinda surprised that you would not buy the game because all of the Germans don't have white skin. That's something that I didn't even notice until you pointed it out. I say gameplay over realism, and perhaps how we represent ourselves should also take priority over "historical accuracy." It's a really fun game, and it's beautiful. Don't expect it to be a lesson on "how WWI was." How would you feel if a film that talked about the apartheid portrayed Nelson Mandela as white? How would you feel that if Columbus got portrayed as a native american? How about the founding fathers being asian? Not only would it be historically innacurate, it would just be downright insulting. Which is what it is. For all cases an purposes, WW1 was a predominantly european conflict, that means it was fought for and by european people. And shoving down united states racial problems down your through out via historical revisionism is just downright disgusting. In: Other Games

Regarding women in this case, it's clear to see why women are less overall competitive than men. Only 20-40% of men ever reproduced. While 80-90% of women did (this was true until very recently when civilization started to develop). So males that weren't competitive couldn't reproduce, and the genes that were responsible for such behaviour didin't carry on. For females it's much different. They clearly had no qualms in sharing their breeding mate with other females in the group. Which is why women never evolved to be competitive. There simply was no reason to. Even if something happened with the alpha male that everyone fucked with, chances are they would get along with whatever came next. Infact, it's entirely plausible that being a competitive female might have been a disadvantage, because as you are physically weaker than men, you would just be killed if you would try to outcompete someone. Why evolve genes that don't help to reproduce, and just might be detrimentary to your existance? There's no reason to. In: News
