It also couldn't counter in early-mid game snipers. You about brummbar? Or doctrinal howitzer? Trenches now could be occupied by any units not only brits as it was earlier. But yeah, I don't think the Land Mattress or the Calliope should be in the base package of the Allied Armies, I have no idea why the OKW, Ost and Sovs also have them either, should all be doctrinal in my opinion. That makes me wonder why the Wehrmacht in CoH also had the Nebelwerfer and walking Stuka again, they were basically the only ones with non-doc rocket artillery. Wehrmacht also didn't have the wonderful 105 and they had to go up against emplacements. And free trenches. In: COH2 Gameplay

IIRC vet 4 is simply a fov increase when in cover (although I will say that this can be very useful in spotting for team weapons, especially in the late game when the whole map is covered in craters) It's not vet 5. And while we don't play CoH everyday, we play it regularly enough with both factions to not be reset. yeah, not you, them. if they haven't played their ten matches, or hadn't, they're basically free to match with anyone. unfortunately that means new teams with two great players can get matched against a couple of buddies who've been slugging it out for a year. happens to me all the time (that is, I get matched against people forming new teams with way more talent than myself).
