You have already cover this THE UNIT DOES NOT "almost ignores cover", and since the ST44 have very high DPS at close range one should (in most case try) to move closer than 10 where the point blank mechanism kicks in anyway.
Actually Vamp obers have no to very little advantage over LMG Ober vs heavy cover in long range.
I wish PTRS conscripts could still throw molotovs though. No reason they shouldn't be able to; pfusies, pgrens, and recon support paras can all still throw nades when given their AT upgrades, and they have real grenades.
Why would you retain the ability to do something you paid specifically for? Madness to expect such things! MADNESS!
I'd hate to see the game watered down for the sake of time. The cover mechanic is neat, it imo just needs refined. Like I said previously, to work on a 4 man squad makes it op with a 5 man squad and to make it balanced on a 5 man squad leaves a 4 man squad lacking. Separate them and go from there. I'd really like to see more CHOICE in tailoring your Tommies individually as opposed to globally (like I would like cons) . They are pretty well the only infantry the brits get so they should be adaptable.
The whole point of the 7 man upgrade is so cons can be powerful WITHOUT a doctrine... Watering it down so it works betterwith a select few commanders returns cons to the "yea let's just shelf these lads again" pile.
That’s true, but you’re still mostly picking shocks or IS2 or both.
But you are PICKING it. You CAN play other commanders whereas the old Soviet design you were playing against yourself if you picked an off meta commander.
But that's irrelevant, let's keep to the topic, sorry for dragging us off
