Usf has been balanced around that mechanic. Posting stats without in-game application is the reason for the argument. 2 Jaksons still take up 32% of your popcap, and US's insane bleed cancels out the 40 mp you get when 2 jaksons have their crews out. Also the original post you responded to never said anything about upkeep. Lago said jakson popcap and the percentage of your army that fills. 40% is still incorrect though. I never said that it gives them an advantage, pls do not put words in my mouth. The statement that USF have "insane bleed"is debatable but my point and the fact remains, disembarking unused vehicles reduces the upkeep allowing one to have more manpower/pop not matter how you want to twist. This thread is about the Tiger and not USF crews I have clearly respond to a claim about pop and your claims and have little to on the subject. Have a nice day. BB In: COH2 Balance

Every time you retreat your infantry, you have to get out of your vehicles, to reinforce them. That does not work in competitive games. It sounds good on paper, but reality is different. If popcap abuse was an actual viable strat, Usf would be untouchable in tournaments. You could almost 2v1 with 15 tanks. Obviously we are talking about different things. You are talking about 4vs4 where USF uses disembark to circumvent pop limit and I am talking about disembarking to reduce one's Upkeep. Once more what "pros" do is irrelevant in this case. You’ve spent 280 fuel and 800 mp on units that can only fight tanks and even decrewing your vehicle doesn’t help that part. Imagine playing for a significant amount of time with an 800 mp, 280 fuel float. Definitely an issue that you’re going to be feeling. You also obviously don’t have any armor to fight infantry. In exchange you get an excellent TD though. Any faction that has invested in TD while not facing tanks is in a disadvantage. USF suffer less than other factions since they combine powerful infantry and vehicles crews. In: COH2 Balance

Its a much better way to balance than hitting units with nerf bat and leaving them useless over long periods of time. The biggest thing about small changes imo is that balance patches would have to be much more frequent. Nice to see that we agree but I have to disagree in the second part. Actually it is the big changes that require frequent patches since things can go really wrong. Let me remind you that we had a full month with a broken USF mortar and 8 months of Penal spam running around with ourah and flamers that made the game to be a very bad spot with very stale meta and that due to big changes and not small changes. What "pros" do is quite irrelevant in this case because "pro" players would not be an position to have 2 M36s in their army composition if they didn't need them. It has been argued that building 2 M36s put USF players in disadvantage because 40% (actually 32%) of their Pop it taken by AT vehicles. The resource cost of getting two Jacksons you aren't using isn't changed by that. Again USf players have the option to have only 8 pop invested in 2 Jackson if three not using them, not 40% of their pop. The theory is simply wrong.
