Not that history should dictate balance, but historically Pioneers and Engineers were elite units and had among the highest mortality rates. I think they should be a little bit more badass considering their actual roles. Flamer has a range 20 and completely flat DPS so it better used at that range. At that range pio smgs contribution to DPS (actually they are usually behind the flamer and thus further away) is minimal. C.E get DPS from their 3 mosins. In: COH2 Balance

Although I'd say their biggest asset it that they profit from the 5 man upgrade. Just the AT nade was a bit off. UKF can get weapon on they engineers, but usually this upgrade comes rather late in the game, as well as the Anvil LMG upgrade. OST can get a flame thrower early on. However they also cost more. 250 MP if I recall correctly vs 200 MP of the pioneer. So yes, they are better, but not without drawbacks. cost 210 In: COH2 Balance

They only have it because UKF does not get snare on the mainlines. It's more of a patchwork fix for the faction than an actual utility on the unit. Well they still have it. And clearing shot blocker is an op ability. In any case WFA can get AT weapons on their engineer and some of them can get LMG so I doubt that pioneer are "best engineer unit in the whole game". Pioneer are extremely difficult to gain any veterancy past 2 min mark. In: COH2 Balance

Still, I believe that for two above reasons (1. less manpower OKW will have to spend on infantry; 2. those extra abilities including retrat) it should cost as much as other anti tank guns. Making RW to "reduce" the manpower of OKW is a step in the wrong direction because their that will force allies to use WC51/m3 to gain advantage. If OKW need less manpower simply lower the starting manpower. (alternatively increase cost VG or time to build.) RW does not "extra" abilities camo comes at vet 1 and it needs to reach vet 3 to even get a first strike bonus. If you want to talk about "extra ability" you can look at cheaper M-42 with vet 0 camo that can move/vet 0 first strike bonus/canister shot. In: COH2 Balance

So what about with upcoming patch post-armor nerf IS-2 vs JP and FF vs KT? Both super heavies yes? Or do you want to call IS-2 super duper heavy in the event JP can compete here at a similar level to FF can with KT. I am not sure what your point here is. JP has the same penetration values and damage with Stug. FF trade ROF for higher penetration value and higher damage. That give FF better chance to penetrate and more damage to heavily armored targets while JP better at dealing with low armored target where ROF is better. In: COH2 Balance

My point is, it can retreat and it makes it more surviable. Other at guns can't do that. Thus, Ilits survaiability imo is similar to other at guns, with the exception of ZiS. IMO Pak with 4 men crew is generally less survivable. But most importantly - rak got buffed and it should be more expensive imo. It got a price increase also and some nerfs: Buffs: Range from 50 to 55 Crew size from 4 to 5 Nerfs: Cost from 270 to 290 Camouflage ability now locks the unit in place unless revealed. Cannot move, but can rotate Requires veterancy 1 for camouflage In: COH2 Balance
