The tiger could be refit in a generalist role (in fact it is already today), the unit would provide more interest in building your T4. On its side, adjust the Brumbar maybe to be a cheaper IA dedicated unit, reducing its armor or health and global dps, something you use in addition with the Tiger. Then the OST Panther could be use in doctrines as the OKW command panther is, with some adjustment, making it a really dedicated AT unit, increasing its AT power and reducing its AI one and of course increasing its frontal armor. The unit could be limited to one at time and only available once BP3 is researched. So we have an Ostheer faction that has easier access to better generalist units around their dedicated AT units (pak40 and Stug) and if their really need another AT source to fight bigger cats such as Churchills, they can either call an Elefant (in teamgame) or a panther (1vs1) This would also make other than Tiger doctrines more appealing since you could always build a Tiger. The method I use vs mortar pit or Bofors is to alternately use each of their barrage and attack ground. So when brace is over I always have a barrage ready to finish it off. So maybe it is in the good spot today but not the stug. The stug is overperforming, there is nothing new here. At the beginning it wasn't that good so the panther had is utility, now 2 stugs do better job than a panther. The problem is not only located with the Ostheer, the SU-72 also does a better job in pack than the SU-85. In synthesis, having units overlaping doesn't necessarily mean the most expensive one is crap, no, here the stug is overperforming. In: Lobby

The panther will never be the best counter to Jackson, FF or SU-85 (because they are supposed to counter the panther) but Cromwell, Shermans and T34/85 + Pershing, IS-2, Comet, ISU and all Churchill variante. If you see a Firefly and decide to build a panther, you're wrong from the start. So why it is a meta problem, simply because in teamgame nobody build in number what the panther is supposed to counter but stuff to counter the panther because they know the panther is coming. IMO, the panther is simply too good and at the same time too bad because it forces your opponent to safely invest in counters even before it hits the field. This is also why you don't see it on 1vs1, there is not enough tanks to make it relevant, you do not build a Panther to counter one sherman. There is also the possibility to call a KT or ST from your OKW mate that force Allied player to over-invest in tank destroyer and thus make the panther irrelevant. Finally Ostheer have a lot overlaping units. Stug + Tiger + Panthers are completing some of the same functions, add a dual pak wall and the panther is not really required. In: Lobby

Thread: December Balance Preview31 Oct 2017, 08:10 AM Rear- Echelons / Riflemen To improve Rear Echelons as a support unit and improve their usefulness at different stages of a match, the following changes have been made: Smoke moved from Riflemen to Rear Echelon (Lieutenant retains smoke) Now have access to the Light M7 mine at a cost of 15 Munitions per min Great changes that will give more punch to Airborn doctrine, I just hope the P47 bombing run will be improved so the doctrine become viable again I also hope the revamp of 3 USF doctrines includes the reco one. On the other hand, I don't know if the Jackson health buff is justified and will be useful, that's probably something we will discover once a new meta is in place. What I don't really understand is the runt about panthers changes, the most important changes about panthers is the sum of FF nerf. The real panther'a nemesis today is the FireFly. Of course, we also need to monitor how the panther performs vs the new Jackson. - Panthers have higher popcap but have better reload time. (armor buff was BS anyway) - FireFly have less accuracy and less accuracy on the move and its tulip doesn't cancel move order anymore. That's a huge nerf for the UKF only tank destroyer. In: Lobby

The main issue is replacing their T4 if it gets blown up which generally happens as call-in tanks attack the thing with no tech investment required, unlike the T4. If OKW could rebuild the T4 more easily or get like half the units from it (Obers and Jagdpanzer) for cheaper, things would be pretty great for them. That's funny because in order to compete vs OKW you must use call-in doctrines and because you use a call-in doctrine OKW T4 get destroy too easily. Have you try to play vs OKW without call-in? I do it all the time and destroying OKW T4 that cut 1/3 of the map is an accomplishment on itself and this just to be able to harass his fuel and victory point again. There is an easy solution about OKW T4, remove the cannon on it so ppl will build it in their base and reduce the chance to get it destroyed. This cannon comes from a era when OKW needed it to stay on the field, this is not the case anymore. In: COH2 Balance
