I'd almost bet that Relic intentionally overpriced their store to then go "whoops, we listen" while setting the pricing to the originally intended value. Would not be the first time we'd see this in the gaming industry.

The store is overpriced for the fat whales that absolutely need the cosmetics, ASAP. Then they will decrease it under the guile of "sowwyyyyy, we made a bu-bu, we sowwy" or some other community-patronizing BS.

Couldn't give less f**** about the store. It's completely optional.
It's a normal update anyway. SEGA probably pushed the store/bugs more than the rebalance. Which is fine.

They need to fix bugs first, before trying to balance out the game.
I'd even say that current COH3 is not that more unbalanced than current COH2. Especially in teamgames. Everything, always, revolves around "meta" tactics. You can nerf one thing, another will pop out. You can thank the no-lifers that play games for a living (Streamers, etc.), that have way too much time on their hands to play COH3 and find different tactics/strategies.

They need to add more content... BGs, heavy tanks, premium mediums.... Rebalance the tank ranges. Then you'll still have meta strategies, but at least you could have a choice between a couple of meta strategies.

My hope is the store was required to get on the latest code. If that is the case the next patch will be the deciding factor if Coh3 survives.

It is a balancing act though, because there is so much that needs done. And every player has a different view of what is important.

If they push it out early and dont do enough they get burned.

If they wait too long with no road map and make a big patch later, they get burned.

There are so many people pissing and moaning about balance that really needed features are probably being pushed back. Is the balance that bad? Is it possible for people to shut up about it for a couple weeks to get better QOL stuff fixed?

Either way, Relic started off on the wrong foot and now are in a fight to get back to normal. But it is possible.

Word, the vast majority of balance complaints I see on the offical forums are faction warriors some of which have a basis in reality but in 1v1 balance seems good enough. Sure some things are overtuned (Sappers early game, 8 RAD) and other units might as well not be in the game (Flak HT, Bulldozer, Scott, Hummel, 221, Easy 8) but the game is plenty playable.

It kind of amazes me how most of the community has completely forgotten how much of a hot mess COH2 was for YEARS but after 1 month of COH3 not being completely polished it's all doom and gloom or complete impatience at the lack of knee jerk balancing. News flash: half of you faction warriors are still in the process of gitting gud and maybe your faction of preference isn't completely UP after all.

Can't talk about 1v1 balance, but the few team games I played were Company of Blobs on all sides, much worse than it is in CoH2. Doesn't matter how long CoH2 has already been supported, it's the reference for the current game.

There were few balance changes but imo they did nail some really important ones. COH2 had huge, sweeping balance passes that often had weird knock-on effects.

The coh2 balancing history is an example to be avoided. Buffing and nerfing through the roof does not really help balancing the game.

As a matter of fact they didn't, which means, as a lawful member of the community, who wishes game all the best, you have to publicly tell about this exploit, because, it will bring attention of the developers, which in return grantees a fast fix.
