And the bought vet in coh1 was not exactly balanced either.
Most games it was a case of can the american outplay the german enough early on before too much vet kicks in.
Relic said they wanted all stages of early mid and late game to be more balanced in coh2, rather than a huge shift like in coh1. |
Yeah paks, make sure you have fausts handy to prevent the strafe. Generally they won't try it when they see because it's almost certain dead T34.
Then have HT handy to reinforce and MG to prevent an inf rush.
You know... Funny thing called combined arms. Germans do it best . |
Yes it's situational and map dependant. 4v4 your always going to face bomb strikes.
Your point number 1 is exactly why I suggest using the direct fire to vet it. If you set it up correctly and use it at the right time, it will have no problems. The cone of fire is quite wide at long range and it will hit pretty quickly, of course better if you can AT nade first. |
Sorry to necro this thread, but thought I'd add some tips for using B4.
When you build it, dont waste time trying to hit with standard strike. You will miss, waste time and alert your enemy you have one.
When you place it, think of it as a giant AT gun, i.e. try to place it where it has the longest straight line of vision, obviously near your base.
Now wait and bait your enemy armour into its already set up cone of fire. It should perform the direct shot fairly quickly. Try to attack a medium tank thats had a little damage done (hello KV1). This will vet it instantly, at the same moment your opponent just found out youve got it.
Now obviously defend it like mad, and use the precision strike with abandon.
Only use the standard barrage if you have no targets and want to just lob one into the FoW, or if your really stuck for munis.
Take home point: Use the direct fire as a supprise 1st shot, it will be easier to pull off if they dont know you have it yet, and then you get vet for precision strike. |
I gotta agree that it would be cool if AOE was toned down just a lil bit and replaced with suppresion like in coh1. |
I can at least understand that reasoning Ztormi, but that is a potential reason to not get it for free, not to completely be denied access to it.
There is no reason why I shouldnt be allowed to buy it at the least. |
Well yes that would be ideal and I would very much appreciate that.
But Im more than willing to respect that everyone got this in a promotion, and having missed it I would just fork out the cash.
On the other hand, theres no reason they could not have just awarded it to all owners of the game after the promotion event.
Regardless, its plainly WRONG to hold back certain commanders from players who have paid a LOT for all the DLC. |
Its supposed to be a disadvanatage only being able to call the one Tiger, but of course in 1v1, thats basicaly out the window.
I think it would be fair to make it only apply to infantry. But the mortar would still be a bit OP.
|
I do think its a bit too powerful on mortars as they do not take a lot of damage and hence do not give away much vet. And they become so powerful at vet 3, early game inf battles become very skewed.
Then getting a vet 2 panzer 4 is also really nasty. Though it was nerfed a little bit by increasing the cool down on training. I guess you do pay a premium for vet2 tank.. But it feels worth it to hands down own whatever is on the field at that point. |
I missed out on these commanders because of a family bereavement at the time of this promotion. Now I'm unable to use them and I really like the look of them.
I have bought pretty much everything from relic including DCE and some skins. I would pay for these commanders, but they are not available.
I feel unfairly discriminated against because I could not be online at a certain time. What about new players? Are they also doomed to face commanders they will never be allowed to own?
Please relic, add them to the store! |
