I agree it can be tricky to get a grenade off, which is why you need to flank from multiple directions with the last squad closing to throw it, kinda like rifles would do in COH1.
Or if there is a very critical building of the enemys, you could consider rushing a squad with the flare as your 1st muni purchase, you can get it in the first few mins, this way you can probably destroy the building before it even becomes an issue.
Or if all thats too tricky, just use Royal Arty Doc, dont rely on Sextons, just get some muni caches and spam the 100 muni call in, just use it on all his buildings, bunkers and any howies. It will do a good job making way for your tanks. Then when you do attack, use it on clumps of paks.
Alternate strat, might not be great, but you could use the Forward Observation Point from Tactical Support Regiment, spam muni caches and use it to call in arty and air support, at least you will force the enemy to use their indirect fire on your buildings rather than troops, and you can just keep upgrading new ambient buildings.
Im not sure Rifle Co. is a good idea, because it lacks any solid arty or off map to back you up.

Use the Base howies for anti garrison, either flank with a couple squads to get nade off, or use the sniper flare, or use the call in from royal arty, at 100 muni it is a steal tbh. Brits might not be able to clear a building like flamer engies can, but their arty is cheaper, more readily available and comes earlier than other factions. It also flattens buildings, which in a way is better than just clearing it. Or early on, if u can cover a wasp with an anti tank gun, that could work. In: UKF Strategies |

Sorry what I meant was I dont mind the changes to engies. In fact Im very happy with them, because I didnt abuse them much anyway, but did regularly face them when playing Vs UKF. Tricky thing vs Ostruppen, is you can hold your important house, but soon he will send his flamer engie, at which point you have to vacate the building, which then has his Ostruppen/MG inside. Everyone hates on this doctrine, so for a while Ive ignored it, yet it keeps niggling in the back of my head.. and Ive been playing with it recently vs Ost, and I love it. Ok so maybe the sexton isnt great? Dont build it then. The recon arty can certainly be useful, especially for spotting for arty. The main ability of this commander is the co-ordinated barrage, for 100 muni. Now I know an upgraded IS can drop the flare for this (for cheaper), but that requires them being in position, and bloody close too. And you lose healing on that squad. The sniper can also do it, a bit further a away (and at vet 1), but again that requires positioning, keeping sniper alive and at vet 1. Having the arty drop wherever you want it for 100 muni, is really good. Brits can struggle vs static positions, and the combined arms nature of Brits and Ost, often leads to a big stand off which arty can really smash. I also like strats that are not very meta, because people dont expect a crap load of arty raining on their head At 100 muni, its quite spammable.I rarely get the Valentine, if I did, it would only be for the scanning ability, so would depend on a super defensive opponent. The overwatch arty, is good, but situational, depends if you have a whole side of the map where enemy is pushing. But you do need sight for shells to land.. but its quite expensive, so I dont use it much. Never automatically go royal arty, I keep my options open, my main other go to vs Ost is Royal Engineers, having a command bren is good, the repairs come in handy in different situations and given the right map, the AVRE can be a complete game changer, especially if the enemy gifts me a PAK so its easy to have plenty of AT. But as soon as the enemy starts digging in MGs, building pak43s, or Howies, or spamming support weapons, having the arty on hand is godly. In: UKF Strategies |

Yeah in 1v1, and probably even team games, a lot of the time cromwell spam will keep the pressure on and not allow them to recover. Especially against OKW! Old Anvil is OP as hell when you spam heavy engies and churchills. But they are not supposed to be spammed, they are supposed to supplement emplacements, hence being slower and having more armour to resist indirect fire. They are not supposed to be spammed front line unit. If you think of the Anvil nerfs in context of playing with emplacements, then yeah they will still work fine, and cost increases are not too bad. If you intended to just spam these two units, then yeah you wont have much muni or fuel ![]() Seems legit to me, clear they were over performing. I dont feel the Commet is very affordable in 1v1, and if you do save for it, you better have enough ATGs, because enemy will have some hefty armour. In: UKF Strategies |

Generally against so many units, one of the main tactics to try employ is to overload your opponents micro. Its very hard to micro so many squads, so things like grenades can have a higher impact getting more wipes. Similarly if you use Falls out a building to kill support weapons, while also engaging other units else where, might help. I imagine Obers would be useful, and 1-2 infantry support guns protected by a well placed flak HQ are going to be a problem for him. Fast luchs can do huge damage, but for me its risky, as AT nades and ZiS, counter it fairly easy. Instead I would probably go for P4's, no need for panthers if he has nothing heavier than T34/76, and P4s will help a lot vs cons. In: Strategy Desk |
