Thread: FBP Update v1.25 Aug 2017, 02:09 AM USF Jackson Based on feedback from the community we are readjusting the Jackson. With these changes, we aim to reinforce Jackson’s use as a slugger and dive-in unit, to give the USF faction a late-game boost. In exchange, the unit’s cost is being increased and accuracy being reduced to prevent the Jackson from taking on all AT roles in the USF’s roster. Health from 600 to 640 Cost from 380/135 to 400/145 Accuracy from 0.06/0.05/0.03 to 0.055/0.04/0.03 Far penetration from 180 to 200. lol surveymonkey. 640 health. Same as their Sherman. Better far penetration, no change in far accuracy. How is that supposed to prevent the Jackson from taking on all AT roles? If players use Jacksons the same way they currently do, as many likely will because it's how the unit functions best (using it's superior sight and range and damage), the only prevention I see is the delay in timing due to the increased cost. At least they made adjustments to Brace so it's only 20 seconds too long instead of 30. I mean hey, broken watches are right twice a day, right? Because I have noticed how a sherman for instance can take a faust but no engine damage occurs even if the faust does damage Lol Wtf my post was eaten. Above is correct but the snare must drop the unit below 75%. Exactly 25% damage, which for a sherman is 160 damage, won't trigger the critical I believe. Faust are 100 damage. Vet 4 volks deal 160 with their fausts. At nades for soviets, pfusis, and rifles are 80 damage. Satchels I think are 240. In: COH2 Gameplay

It is like saying that building armor is risky because there are AT guns in the game. At the same time, investing all your fuel in panzerwerfers or calliopes, etc, may not be a move you want to make if your opponent is making an army of Jacksons or pumas. One could argue that there's already an implied risk of FRPs. For OKW and less-so UKF having your FRP compromised can be a crippling blow. USF as well, especially if the ambulance is at the front with the major. But a mobile, FRP that can retreat and cap does have a lot less risk. Point is, FRPs actually have risk based on how the players use them. They don't necessarily have to have a risk hardwired into them. In: COH2 Balance

That's only if you leave the Sherman on HE rounds. Which I always do and anyone in their right mind does. (Actually I use the Scott, Which is also kind of hinting at the problem too.) The timing of the Sherman just doesn't really fit into being much of a shock unit either. It's around the time of Panzer 4s and has the choice between being able to kill infantry or sorta match with Panzer 4s. I get what you mean though, that's definitely the supposed role of the Sherman. I just don't think it really plays out that way. The Jackson and Sherman are usually competing for resources more often than not and the one with the more critical role (AT) wins out. USF's whole advantage is beating down axis infantry. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: FBP: M36 Jackson Discussion2 Aug 2017, 00:38 AM In my opinion, the FBP Jackson just overshadows the stock Sherman. A good solution for the USF faction as a whole may be to increase the health of the *Sherman*. If the Sherman's health were boosted from 640 to 720, like the Bulldozer and Easy 8, the USF would have a tank that could actually absorb shells. The 'dozer and E8 could even go to 800 health. American tanks aren't known for their armor, but a solid health pool on those tin cans might give USF that late-game staying power. But, like a broken record, Ostheer Panther and the Tiger I are probably the the real dead weights in the scales of balance. And the poor Ostheer P4, being powercreeped into oblivion due in part to OKW. (And T34/76 honorable mention. But at least they saw AI buffs.) In: COH2 Balance
