Not sure how adjusting point blank dps on gren g43s to be closer to or match kar98k invalidates it's utility across the board in all cases. You and I both know that is hyperbolic.
And you know very well my opinion on what to do with volks stg upgrades. I've explained it many times, built it in multiple mods as well.
Your simulation results are correct when Kar98 is involved.
Now, however, consider what happens when you plug G43 in the equation.
G43 is a strict upgrade over all range from Kar98, with the addition of being way stonger at short range (and, of course, moving DPS shenanigans).
If you don't fix the drop-off for Mosins at max range, how are you supposed to have Conscripts fight G43? They can't win at close range, of course; therefore, they should win at long-range (by Vet3).
So what you are saying is that conscripts biggest problem is gren g43s dps curve...
Adjusting G43 close range aimtimes and cooldown to bring it closer to kar98ks at close range should take care of that concern foe tou. G43s are all about long and moving accuracy anyway.
Then what basis there should? There's a plethora of issues that effect this game and those who play live see the fall preview patch when they start up the game have every opportunity to comment on how they perceive balance and changes. This preview mod has many changes that have been asked for a long time namely call ins with their cost and no tech tie in and attempt to better balance certain units. This is the same as the winter patch that people had every chance to give their opinion on and was step in the right direction. Granted there are some who theory craft or comment on this mod yet play little of the live game. Not saying the patch is perfect but that's the whole point of this mod is to see how it effects the game from live and if it's better for it.
Hey, don't get me wrong. I will never disparage a single bug fix or any of the quality of life changes that have been made. Anyone that disagrees with that can just gtfo already.
That said...
What I mean is that there are endless changes that can be made to see how it affects the game. And some of those most certainly will be in the right direction. But I don't think there's a clear idea of what the 'right direction' actually is.
That's what I'm getting at. It would be useful to be testing possible solutions than confirming a set of changes.
One or both of you is going to have to get some form of indirect fire.
If you don't get PAKs, he doesn't get Pumas or JP4s, are you relying on stugs and raketens for your dedicated AT?
If you don't get panzerwerfers, is your ally getting stuka zu fuss?
What may be occurring is that you have a strong strategy that works as long as your opponents don't adjust. The higher you get in the ranks, the less you can rely on a specific strategy to win, and the more you have to adapt your strategies within a single match. Higher level players adjust their strategies as gameplay develops. Players that adjust for what their opponents (or allies) are doing are often those who populate the upper ends of the ladder.
OMFG this site sometimes... Wrote a response, timed out, everything gone.
In short:
Have you tried using another trench wall? I am fairly certain there are vaultable ones and non-vaultable ones. Same with sandbags.
From what I remember from playing around with hulldowns, objects are spawned in this way in relation to the entity's facing. So if there's a squad of infantry, I think there's ample opportunity for some facing to get a little screwy as those entities maneuver around.
Pls consider that this is a Prepatch. Means until it goes live we will change it. But we make this all for free and in our free time. So we need fackback from people WHO PLAY THE MOD!
And then we will rework it.
Considering people not playing the mod are going to be just as affected by the results of the mod... It might be worth taking into account people not playing the mod as a good starting point for what actually needs to be changed.
This will affect the live game. People's interpretations of the live game are extremely relevant and important here.
