Thread: What are your ideas of coh 3 commander system?19 Mar 2018, 15:04 PM CoH1 doctrines with coh2 commanders providing a slight variation to the doctrine. I guess a variation no more than a different unit or ability or two. Not much beyond bulletins, or ToV units. So, as an example... You'd have a doctrine choice just like in coh1. But the doctrines can be customized/adjusted with commanders that affect something equivalent to UKF side tech choices. So choosing recon vs mech would also be the difference between an AEC or an M8 or a Stuart. Or BARS vs m1919s, or vickers k instead of brens. In: Lobby

A Pershing on the other hand has a whole other roster of units and abilities demanding its support. A Firefly really needs a screen of units and is not naturally supported by units that can snare a diving tank. Those tulips, while powerful, have long cooldowns and can miss about as much as the HVAP. Combined with Fireflies already slow rate of fire and overall fragility, you have a unit that has no ability to survive on the field without support. Pershings, on the other hand, have Rifles for snares and Jacksons for ultimate anti tank support. The HVAP round should only be reserved for a shot against a KT or similar such threat. Besides, they already have strong anti infantry and anti tank capabilities without using HVAP, not to mention considerable more durability and maneuverability than a Firefly. In: COH2 Balance

I'd add suppression to any HE/Grenade/MG/AA vs INF/Brummbar/105mm Sherman/Barrage/Mine. It's more an alternative to flat limiting entities it can damage. And I was wrong, I looked at the wrong value for the AoE far damage. It's 0.25 which makes sense. The 0.005 I referenced was for building damage. In: COH2 Balance

This will allow higher lethality from tanks and mortars without frustrating 1 shot wipes. Rather than limit damage to members in a squad, which I really dislike, one could adjust the blast radius profiles to create a smaller lethal radius for full health entities. At the same time, making a larger radius for small to moderate damage would give mortars more consistent damage to static positions, and more reliably damaging their barrage AoE with less total misses and total wipes alike. Statwise: Reduce mortar AoE near distance from 1 to something like 0.1 or 0.25. Increase mortar AoE far distance from 3 to 4 and/or increase damage from 0.005 to 0.025-0.05 Adjust mortar AoE mid distance or increase AoE mid damage slightly. The 120mm and the various HE shells could retain more their destructive radius. Or be reduced from 1.1 or 1.5 depending on mortar. In: COH2 Balance

Tho its technically correct, 1. How the HELL did you manage to get a grenade off on a sniper (and why would you try?) And 2. All the units i know of that have grenades ALSO have guns (the kind that shoot, and do damage) so even if you DID for some reason throw a grenade at a sniper (again....why?) It would almost 100% of the time kill, assuming you managed to hit it once with quite literally a single bullet from ANY gun in the game... Riflenades are the exception there, being the (only) grenade I see killing soviet snipers, (like, ever.) In: COH2 Balance
