I feel like this game has been getting worse and worse with each balance patch and it's been that way since 2018. They're making all these changes and basically turning this upside down I hardly recognize it anymore and I was a late comer to this game, started playing about 3 years ago.
I'm trying to get into Hearts of Iron IV, but I think you need some kind of college level course dedicated to learning how to play that game. |
I don't like that it can still retreat but that would maybe be too drastic a nerf. Rate of fire OR penetration like you said is probably a good idea
Yeah I think it needs the retreat too. But it doesn't need the 5th man or increased range. They just need to revert the more recent changes to it. All they had to do really was remove the stupid cheesy moving cloak. |
They made them 100% worse. Cost increases, CP increase, increased cool down time, they suck against infantry? They made them worse in so many ways without compensating in anyway.
I wish the game had professional game testers do balance patches. I don't think anything pisses me off more with these patches than when they make a unit worse than it was before, and then increase it's cost at same time. Honestly that's worse than buffing a unit and decreasing it's cost because at least with the latter you're adding a unit rather than subtracting one. |
Bayuex would be better if it were smaller. Novogorad is just garbage like all the winter maps. |
Now what is the point of even having armor in the Panther if it going to be hit and penetrated with 100% probability at range 60 by a cheaper TD?
Now what it the point in building anything else since USF infantry can handle axis infatry?
LOL no they cannot. USF doesn't get stock elite infantry like Obersoldaten or Panzergrenadiers. Nor do they get sqaud wiping satchels (which are laughably cheap and require no side teching).
I am still an awe about how dense this community is on the M36 Jackson. |
This is not a jackson nerf attempt, it's not even a USF nerf. This thread is a CHANGE suggestion. An overall positive net change for all factions, USF included
You're talking about making a unit, and an entire faction worse than it is.
I'm sorry but Tiger and Panther tanks were not invincible armored behemoths in real life, there were an assortment of vehicles and guns that could kill them relitively easily. They were not invincible in real life I don't know why people expect that they should be in this game too. |
Neither Churchill nor FF has an inflated POP.
Oh yes they do. None of these TDs should have a POP exceeding 14 and none of the heavier stock armor should exceed 18. |
Voted yes to all; it seems like a solid set of ideas to me, at least on paper.
1. The M10 becoming non-doc just makes sense. It gives USF an intermediate AT solution that they desperately need. However, the M10 couldn't be implemented with its current stats; right now it's balanced as a single doc-locked call-in, not as a default unit. It would probably need a price increase or something.
2. This is a good solution to where the M36 should go, in terms of teching, and it prevents the USF T4 from having two rows of icons in some cases.
3. Once all this happens, the M36 needs to become a dedicated heavy-counter, rather than the "everything on tracks" counter. Otherwise, this just delays the current issue, rather than fixing it. The M10 would need to have a reason to exist after the M36 was unlocked, which it wouldn't, without M36 changes.
The M10 doesn't have a reason to exist now and it hasn't for a couple of years. It only makes sense being part of the Brit Lend-Lease Commander.
I don't understand the continued crying ahout this unit...oh wait I do. The OKW mains bitched and moaned to get it's armor nerfed and the balance team caved so now there is going to even more bitching and moaning until its just an expenisve M10. |
What are the stats for those squads? I charged sturm pios (we ran straight for each other) with thomson upgraded cavalry riflemen and I got demolished.
Only Thompson Paras are a match for Panzergrens. Strums are basically the samething as Panzergrens but are a little bit weaker and yeah they'll demolish everything you have early on. Cavalry Riflmen Riflmen don't work as a CQB unit because they are way too squishy/weak. They work okay in a halftrack or WC51. |
Stop using tanks against tank destroyers.
Will help instantly.
A very simple concept the Axis mains cannot comprehend. |
