You don't win the game only by killing the enemy units, you generally win it by effectively neutralising them so they can't bother your own units. Which the JP4 is excellent for. It comfortably beats the Jackson and the Firefly due to its vastly superior (effective) DPM and its accuracy advantage, and versing the SU-85 is an even fight until it gets its camo and 800 hp at vet 2, after which it also beats that one. TLDR the Jagdpanzer is an excellent counter to Allied TDs. Thread: A case for rec bonus for 5 man gren27 Jan 2021, 18:33 PM Riflemen veterancy does absolutely nothing to increase their durability versus AOE. These test results are pure RNG. Grens do get better resistance versus AOE with vet 3, but since tank shells deal 160 damage it won't help against the near AOE damage oneshotting models. Received accuracy also practically does not matter against scatter weapons (tank main gun versus infantry). The chance to directly hit a model is 2-5% based on the distance, so that's negligible. Tanks use scatter to hit infantry, which is a random RNG calculation that totally ignores infantry target size. In: COH2 Balance

But I agree that there is no counterplay, since there is also no announcement. I think the ability is unique and mostly fine. It just shouldn't be available constantly. Cost, duration and/or cooldown nerfs would be enough for me. If it could only be used once every ~5 minutes rather than every 2 minutes, the ability would still be great to play into (similar to saving up for a strafe and using it while attacking) while giving the opposing player a better chance to play around it. Hang back / retreat / play safe during the 30-60s it's active, then have at least another 5 minutes to play regularly. Similar to strafes or other global buff abilities. I'm against removing or heavily adjusting a totally unique ability. In my opinion the game should have (had) more psychological warfare abilities, not fewer. It makes the game more exciting when players can choose to use indirect abilities rather than just brute force. In: COH2 Gameplay

"This means nothing" "Far too many factors" "bla bla" I've always said that tournament stats are not conclusive evidence because of small sample size and many other factors, but that they are an indication. And I did not claim these stats are conclusive evidence, I said they offer perspective. That the commander was used a lot (/the most) and had a high win rate. And I hope that it should at the very least make you doubt whether the upgrade is now "completely useless". This, together with the actual stats that I provided that show the G43 into STG44 swap was not a harsh nerf at all, should help prove that it is still a good upgrade. I haven't seen any evidence here to prove the opposite. In any case, if the upgrade does need further adjustments I'll be very happy to do them. We'll have to wait for live testing (patch release) to see how it truly performs now, though. In: COH2 Gameplay

Max range decreases only by about 13% (for the weapon), because the cooldown bonus from the upgrade affects the STG44 differently. And for the record in absolute numbers this is a decrease from 2.4 to 2.09, or in regards to the total squad DPS at that range it goes from 11,9 to 11,6. The STG44 is actually better up to range 33ish, not 27, because again the cooldown bonus affects it differently. The mid range DPS is actually boosted by 15-23% (for the weapon), not 7-11%, because again the cooldown bonus affects the STG differently.
