If one increases the target size range one can also use accuracy. For instance if Super heavy tanks got a target size 30-40 the medium tank destroyers would hit these always but not penetrate them while Heavy tank destroyers would always penetrate medium but not hit them often. True, accuracy is the balancing knob that traditionally have been used. But balancing by accuracy is balancing by RNG. Tuning damage will lead to a more consistent result. The focus on the Panther is kinda derailing the discussion. 😊 The suggestion also included a damage change for the “heavy tank destroyers. I proposed upping their to 200 damage and make the heavy tanks health divisible by 200. Rate of fire can then be decreased to keep “time to kill” constant vs heavies while simultaneously increasing the “time to kill” mediums. This will make heavy tank destroyers cost efficient vs heavy tanks and medium tank destroyers cost efficient vs medium tanks (USF and UK should have a stock medium tank destroyer - M10) In: COH2 Balance
Thread: [Winter Balance Update] OST Feedback4 Dec 2020, 17:54 PM The reason that Osttroopen/Assgrens are meta is because Grens are the only mainline infantry that cannot be build from the headquarter. On multiple maps this allows the allies to cap vital points/buildings. This forces you to attack with the defencive oriented grens. Instead of buffing the grens you should consider making them buildable from the HQ again (and the MG back to T1). Also, the 5 man Grens are crutch that needs to go. It overshadows the other commanders (on maps where you don’t need to rush buildings) In: COH2 Balance

I feel that this kind of small bounce RNG on AT guns and TDs specifically has no place in a competitive environment. I Agree with Dharx here. As a 2vs2 Ostheer player, I don't really see much use in using the Panther right now: everything is so so mediocre and it doesn't really do anything against infantry. Like the only thing it got going for is speed and high durability. Which Allies can just lay cheap 30muni mine to denied the "speed" for flanking and high durability also meaning easier vet gain for Allies TD like SU-85 / Jackson (which by feeding them to vet 2 or 3, my panther even when showing frontal armor is not that good anymore) I rather just going for the Brumbar + Elefant + PG Sherck right now to outright destroy Allies TD / Infantry / AT gun in 2vs2. I know that if we ask for any form of buff for Panther will result it being spam in other games mode so I'm not gonna touch on that, I'm just express my mind that in my 2vs2 game (Usually Top 100), I rather going for my combo then getting a Panther out which is not a threat against Infantry like the Comet or T34/85mm and also a vet feeding system for SU85 / Jackson. P/S: if ya people play lots of 2vs2, those Alllies do lay down lots of mines, explains why I don't really like to Blitz a Panther to flank (which it penetrate and accuracy is not even that good lol) You described the 2v2 environment very well 😊 In: COH2 Balance

I think of it as a Tank Hunter rather than a Tank Destroyer. Tank Destroyers try to delete tanks without exposing themselves to too much harm. Tank Hunters aren't afraid to dive the enemy tank and chase them down even if it means taking a few hits. The hunter/brawler role is simply not working in a cost-effective manner. Armor is borderline useless vs AT-guns and tank destroyers. Diving you more expensive panther against another tank destroyer will most often result in a loss because of snares. Right now the panther has the honor of being both the worst and the most expletive tank destroyer in (maps with lost of shot blockers and 4v4 blobfests changes this). In: COH2 Balance
