the whole point of t34s and their crappy scaling relative to other armour is that when they are lost they are easier to replace
they dont get more durable with vet, the dont get abilities to support infantry or save their lives, their "thing" is that you can be ballsy with them.

the 85 is a great tank, its a clear upgrade from the 76 and its cost relative to the unit its intended to replace reflects that.
i am certainly not going to pay 60-65 more fuel for an 85 when i could have 2 76s in about a minute instead-giving me more health, more firepower, more presence and more options.

the cost of the 85 cant be compared vs other factions medium tanks because the soviet medium armour doesnt follow the rules that the other factions do.
the t34/76 costs a mere 80 fuel, yet is capable of going toe to toe with a p4. if that is acceptable why does an 85 need to become more expensive when its just as likely to be beaten by a p4 as a p4 is to be beaten by t34/76?


tldr the power of the soviet war machine is its ability to replace armoured losses vs having vet that makes them indispensable- the cost reflects this, compared to the unit it is designed to replace, if anything its over priced at almost 150% the price for a negligible armour increase, 1 more shot of health and more pen, imagine the ost having the okw p4 in t3 for 200 fuel? (not the greatest selection to compare i know, but you get the point)

Yes flank the position. Make a wide arc around it and attack softer targets behind the Bofors like a mortar pit for example. With them gone, the Bofors itself can be eliminated very easily. But hey, you aren't even listening to me. I'm just wrong whatever I say, according to some people here. I could claim that an orange is orange and someone here would dispute that.

Its not as simple as orange is orange. We mostly agree that the bofors is an effective unit, thats established. What we are discussing is if its too strong and why we think so. So to go back to your orange is orange analogy its more: one person says its the color or grenadine in orange juice and another thinks it looks more like a California sunset reflected off my scrotum. Both may be orange but you can assume that the color of orange is somewhat different, and hell the amount of grenadine you put in your OJ might differ from the amount I do, and the angle in which you see the sun reflecting off my junk would be different than mine so even though we would be saying the same thing we could mean something different. Perspective, thats what this thread is about

What I meant about the vanilla faction being ignored is that wfa had all offmaps disabled shortly after release and ukf was released without the ability. Vanilla, aside from loiters are still allowed, this includes stuka bombing, il-2 bomb runs, frag bomb, Soviet flame arty.. You know the ones that have the biggest impact vs retreated infantry

interestingly, the il-2 loiter cant be activated in the enemy base setor. also has the il-2 been ninja bufed? i used it the other day and (i know this hard to picture) it HIT and enemy unit AND it did damage!?!?! it might be a bug tho...

idk about stuka attacks, but all vanilla bombs are allowed in the base sector, this is probably because relic wants to make sure vanilla factions maintain consistency with each other in their lack of modernisation with the rest of the game..
