ive actually found the arty pretty great on imobile targets, but i think the tank commanders are mixed up-
IMHO the brits should have the commanders that call in arty (tied to the base howitzer) especially since it isnt actually a choice between anything, its just "yep now we are even better and vet even faster"
increased vet and los screams out elite armour.... i meam.. making the elusive 5 levels of vet slightly more attainable and having....elite armour.... comeon!
(also KT should be able to get commander and mg again... |

i personally put my vote on removal (or at least MASSIVE reduction) and apply in as a cover bonus as previously said, this makes a more dynamic game:
the defender has an advantage, but it can be reduced by a properly composed army- a mortar can try and dislodge an enemy and smoke will be more than just an anti suppression measure- it would be a necessity! (okw will need access to smoke obviously)
support vehicles like halftracks suddenly find themselves a role outside soft retreat point
blobs will be properly punished (omg charging head on into that mg backed by a squad of grens so i can toss a grenade killed more than 1 model!!!!) |
Everytime im on the forum im reminded that I have the only copy of coh2 that has mine laying enabled. When I play axis I prepare for the inevitable t70/Stuart/aec with mines. The enemy IS spending alot on their light vehcles and it WILL rape you if you let it. Its supposed to be a tactical game, use tactics. Bait, snare, ambush. Ost has mines that 1 Shot lights and the okw can couple their mines with a cloaked AT gun. Aside from the Stuart who has literally no weak point (400 health, self heal, insta engine repair, maximum AT for light tanks, shut down any enemy light armour play with 2 clicks and the ability to model snipe) lights are balanced imo. Taking one out prematurely is a huge set back. For tge Soviet the t70 is nearly as much as a t34, the aec is expensive as well AND requires a side tech. Again the Stuart has an advantage here as teching for it is advantageous (no need to actually BUILD the tier like the Soviet, as it builds itself, no additional costs like the Brits, hell you actually GAIN map presence..) |
I actually really like the feel of shreks on sturms. Volks being fodder while the skilled veterans are overworked and in short supply is good with the lore of the okw as well as removing ye olde obervolkdaten capable of countering literally anything they got into range of.. It forces diversity (not just 11 volks squads..) and gives sturms a nice bump in vet gain. But due to Sturm squad size and cost coupled with lower alpha strike (vs pgrens) it is a defensive armament. This is good, AT should rely on planning, use of mines and such. Now if they can somehow address rifle terminators balance will be closer yet |
flak track offencivly is actuallyreally great, however piats are so damn good against it due to it needing to be stationary, now the usf have a t0 mortar that is also great against it... wonder what reducing its target size substantially would do...
make its vet 1 smoke vet0 and with a cost
maybe make vet1 +5 range would be cool
reduce fuel cost by 15-20

isu isnt a bad unit, its pen on AP is a wee bit low but aside from that its fine- long range and incredible, squad vaporizing AI.
with the buffs to the soviet core there is no reason for a build one conquer all unit |
im on the side of adjustment for grens
BUT
grens can also build bunkers allowing them to lock down areas as well as create staging points if resources allow
thats another tally on gren utility that is lacking on the tommy/rifle matchup
sigle arming rifles would be a way to fix multiple problems actually (make BARs a bit better to compensate of course) and help differentiate them from rangers and paras as well as diversify builds with more RE sprinkled in (assuming they maintain double equip)

For a durability buff+boost g43 viability ive suggested in the past to increase to price of the upgrade but make it add a model (the interrogator if it needs a reason) to make them more assault viable, as is you might as well give tommies an option for a sten.. |
