(supposedly).. im just trying to pop that "okw has expensive techng" bullshit no the real point of this entire discussion is that conscripts need to be better to compensate for the expensive side techs... a cost of 220 and increased suppression and damage for the maxim should fix it... 220mp for the Maxim is a no go. It would be spammed harder than ever, even with viable cons. I think the trick for the Maxim is to stop trying to pretend it's in the same bracket as 4 man mgs and price it accordingly, with proper performance. This can be compensated with cheaper cons. Basicly Soviet lineups would be sort of con heavy to match squads, with support elements being strong but priced accordingly, if not at a premium. For example if the Maxim suppressed half way well but was 300mp (random number) spamming would result in low field presence, you would need filler squads to hold the enemy - this would be conscripts. They being cheap chaff and NOT priced the same as proper combat units (as they do not perform as such) would create a nice role of support being SUPPORT and not your mainstay troops. Similarly elite troops would need to be adjusted with this in mind so that spamming cons into guards wouldn't be viable (perhaps elite troops reinforcing slower and at a premium as well) but I think there is potential in that design philosophy. But the rak can retreat (I'm fine with this mechanic) and is rather cheap so as long as it can creep its worth the risk to kill something like a Katy. Imo it needs to be toggle camo but have an ambush bonus, ROF or accuracy or even damage Say it gets to deal 200 damage out of ambush:this means getting it earlier allows the player to, in a properly thought out ambush, counter enemy transports reducing the threat of marauding transports IF PLANNED AHEAD. All that I want from this game is some strategic planning and less "easy" decisions like upgrading volks or penals or risking 270mp to kill 360mp and 85fu Camo should be defensive not offensive. Wehr ambush camo has it right. Sniper camo even has it right rak does not and will not as long as it can possibly hunt for so cheap In: COH2 Balance

The zis is only bad if you don't account for all of its other advantages. As a vet ability it's got a decent one that increases it Los allowing it to pop another shot, it can be wheeled up to deal with garrisons and even pop a good shot into a blob where others need to pull back immediately. It's got the best chance at surviving a flank/indirect fire. The zis is worse as an AT platform but it's strength comes from not being dead weight if there is no tanks to shoot at. I'm all for pointing out things like the Maxim being irredeemablly bad, but the zis is all yuu could want in a support weapon In: COH2 Balance
Thread: can we now fix soviet T2 please?21 Dec 2018, 18:36 PM Jump back to quoted post21 Dec 2018, 16:48 PMgbem the zis would like to have a word with you... mind you the rakaten is not the worst AT gun... however it is the cheeziest... it cannot be used like standard AT guns like the pak 40 or the M7 or the 6 pdr... it has to be used in hold fire and open fire only when a tank has either come close enough for you to snare and kill with the rak... also mind you rakatencheese is the best ambulance killing and repairing tank killing strategy ingame... lastly rakatens cant be spotted via mortar flares pathfinders snipers or recon T-70s.... this means an area that is thought to have little AT might be a deathtrap for any tank... also it absolutely neutralizes the snipers ability to pick it off and the soviet mortars ability to push off an AT gun by mortarfire... lastly the rakaten costs 270 mp... same as an m7 but better... I'd put the zis in the upper echlonof AT guns actually. The barrage is fantastic and the 6 man crew is nice as well. The pen is a bit lower but overall it's an AT gun I'll always grab vs destroying it In: COH2 Balance

Completely option though. Sturms have 3 aoe heals for munitions and most okw infantry will eventually heal by themselves with vet. USF also have to pay fuel for medics and lack any alternative Whatsoever In: COH2 Balance

The long animation often leads to the thrower getting killed and the animation having to reset. There is no way to swing that throwing faster and further isn't a massive advantage. This is especially exaggerated when facing machine guns. The already lower range and longer animation is unbearable if suppressed while the lava nade still functions well because they don't need to bayonet the grenade onto the enemy. In: COH2 Balance

Riflemen are the same way as you have to close the distance to be as effective as their units. That and volks get an upgrade that makes closing on them suicide. So you lose at range and lose harder up close. #balanced In: COH2 Balance

LOL! puts close range starting unit in front of JLI as well as cheap line infantry that have an upgrade that increases their close quarters damage in front where is your God now? In: COH2 Balance
