How do Shock Troops fall short?
I dont understand |
M1 Bazooka Muni cost: 100 for x2 at half efficiency of Pshrek
PShrek muni cost: 100 for x2 for best handheld Anti tank in the game

Lets just ignore the other factors like the fact that shreks dont come on any squad cheaper than 290mp except soviet at parisans as opposed to any and every squad you so chose including the 3 you get given to you for teching up... or the fact that nearly all squads that can sling a zook are 25% more durable than pgrens. |
It hits at a much earlier timing than T3 in 1v1.
It was a joke when it was at CP5, but it got moved to CP3 a couple of patches ago.
But then you've just got another CQC call-in. If you want a CQC call in, pick a Shock doc. There are loads to choose from.
The M5/Assault Guard bundle's an interesting mechanic: you get an early M5 (but only one) and a dirt cheap CQC squad (but only one). If you get the timing right, you can pull a big power spike. There's no need whatsoever to get rid of it to make way for yet another generic CQC call-in.
I domt wang it as a call in, just a buildable option in the hq once unlocked.i agree that the combo is great value, but i want 2 squads of them im shelling out far too much. |
Assault Guards are great. They're a dirt cheap triple Thompson squad, and that very low price (270 MP!) is enabled by the M5 bundle: you can't spam them.
If you removed the M5, you'd have to raise their price, and then you'd just have yet another call-in CQC combat squad. There are already loads of better doctrines that do that.
Raising their proce wouldn't dissuade their use, as it is if you want 2 squads of them you are out a heap of fuel so a bit more MP wouldnt hurt that much. |
On one hand i kinda like the guard's half track buy yea... but it would be nice to be able to use more than 1 squad....
Now some issues that might arise with buying em and their uograde being separate is that guards nagant is insanely good...so it might actually be OP if they came with 6 and an option to buy another upgrade...
On theme however as a worl around would be having them with 6 garands (also a good gun, but actually designed around having a number of them firing at a time)and giving guards the flexibikity to upgrade as they please- zooks, maybe a 2xBAR or bar +M1919 combo? Or thompsons.
If unbundled the halftrack (while great at its timing for snaller modes) could be swapped with one of the halftracks not already in the soviet core. |
Not to mention pak howies and recon support are VERY expensive with a 540 manpower drop. With 140 muni arty ability.
Which in contrast to the ~660 iirc mp and ~200mu "cheap" double pgren with shreks....
your bias is showing. |
1 they beat gren out of cover
2 does pyro and heal count has combat or utility ?
They can beat a 40mp cheapr squad?!?! Hot dayum. Compare them to rifles or fussies amd tou will find they are quite lacking for thir price point. Compared to both of these squads they are nore limited and less effective.if you dump a load MORE resources into them they get quite potnt for sure but theybare far from worth their prie point.
Regrdless, were drgging this topic off topic |
Unupgraded 4 men Infantry Sections have practically the same DPS at 35 range as G43 Panzerfusiliers. It's undeniable that Infantry Sections are excellent at long range, both unupgraded and upgraded, contrary to what was claimed. Which was also the only thing I was responding to.
Besides, Bolster and Platoon tech is about as expensive to get as a Battlegroup HQ with medics, and cheaper than Mechanized. Weapon Racks and Company tech are cheaper than the Schwerer. The upgrade costs per squad are nearly identical at 25mp/80mu vs 28mp/90mu. Accessibility compared to Panzerfusiliers isn't much of an issue, and neither is scalability.
Now I'm starting to feel like I'm getting conflicting reports on fussies.i was told,by you, that fussies DONT have good long range dps, that they have "somewhat decent DPS" how is that that tommies are undeniably excellent at long range but by your own words fussies with almost the same dps are only somewhat decent? |
And what do cost and timing disparities have to do with me only quoting the DPS numbers to prove that the claim that "UKF doesn't even have an effective long range infantry unit any more" is false?
accessibility. They have to pay a boat load for their infantry to be halfway effective. From the word go their infantry is disadvantaged. Sentiment was obviously in relation to Tommies being... Good. Not Tommies soaked with fuel and pumped full of muni. |
Double Bren Infantry Sections have 22,5 DPS at 35 range.
G43 Panzerfusiliers have 11,6 DPS at 35 range.
Slight cost and timing disparity there though... Next to conscripts and lmg Obers! |
