And its range acc and pen are in between mediums and td's. Its only 2 real minusses are low ai output and its justifiably high cost. Its not a td its at focused tank. Call Panther what you like but it still a vehicles designed to fight other vehicles and it has higher tech cost, higher pop and higher cost than mediums and even premium mediums. Comparing it with dual role main battle tanks is simply misleading. Comet also armor/HP and Heavy crush and that mean little. Both their vet show this. And yet somehow the panther needs vet that is apropriate for td's while allied td's dont get vet that is apropriate for panthers. Again not really. Axis have plenty at for every stage of the game. Acc is less imporatant vs heavy and super tanks. This is where the panthers time frame lies, big tanks are easier to hit. Again not really. Finally the only thing illogical here here is the fuss about the a vet bonuses that come at vet 2. It is already available to the OKW Panther for years now via the commander upgrade and it hardly game breaking. We can debate theory all you want but the bonus is hardly game changing. If Relic had decided to separate TDs in "heavy" TDs and "Mediums" TDs (better vs heavies and better vs mediums) I would be all for it and actually I had suggested it years ago. But that would mean that all Heavy TDs should less effective vs mediums and that would have to include Panther/Su-85/M36/FF. That is simply not the case so far. In: COH2 Balance

Regarding 8, I thought it did managed to get past release, but I might be wrong here, cant remember for sure. I have played Alpha and beta and I do not remember being able build T3 as first truck. The resources in alpha worked differently but not us with bonus as you describe (COH1 UKF style). (have singed and NDA and can not give more info on the topic). In: COH2 Gameplay

Thread: The Excessive Amount Of Micro Required For Brummbar4 Dec 2020, 18:22 PM Jump back to quoted post4 Dec 2020, 17:46 PMMMX as i said, i'm not sure how exactly it is calculated in-game and, unfortunately, the editor is pretty cryptic on that as well. anyway, from what i understand the projectile speed you mentioned is only the minimum muzzle velocity. if with the chosen firing angle there's no firing solution, i.e. the shell would land short or overshoot, the initial projectile speed gets increased (or decreased) by a set increment and the firing solution recalculated until it matches. now the part i don't know is how the firing angle is chosen. there is a min/max in the editor and some algorithm that gets the lowest possible angle needed to avoid shot blockers, but the actual angle seems to be random and to vary from shot to shot what this means is that depending on the angle, the velocity (and as a result the time of flight) of the projectile is adjusted and can therefore vary between shots. Are you talking about the projection of of velocity on X axis or the real velocity? Because from what I have seen projectile velocity is dependent on projectile attributes and not guns attributes and a such I do not see how angel of fire would effect it. Unless of coarse it is weapon that has a separate projectile for high angles. Anyway if you want to continue this I suggest you PM me. Jump back to quoted post4 Dec 2020, 17:46 PMMMX but to get back to the original discussion: the brummbär is potent enough w/o manual targeting but can greatly benefit from that extra bit of micro in some situations. i see no issue with this at all; a lot of other units do as well and for me this is a very rewarding gameplay aspect. it would be a problem if the brum were completely useless using its auto attack only, but you'd have to be pretty delusional to claim that in the first place. The autor-fire performance of the Brummbar depends on that target size and of its speed. For instance against a ourah conscripts squad a first shot has a good chance of not killing a single entity. Lets take (a rare) hypothetical scenario with bad parameters for he Brummbar to explain: a Brummbar moves in range perpendicular to 7 men conscript squad and thus select as target the entity on the edge, the conscripts see the brummbar approach and uses "ourah" that shot would probably not do allot of damage. Is the auto-fire completely useless? definitely not Is there a large gap between manual and auto aim? under certain conditions, (not static basically) I would say yes. In: COH2 Balance

At vet 2 it will have 132%/99%/77% and 66%/49.5%/38.5 if moving. (Vet 2 requiring 4.080 XP, roughly killing 3 T-34/76) In: COH2 Balance

But comparing TDs with Panther is not appropriate, as those are completely different unit types. One is a fast and durable brawler with mutiple uses, good for breakthroughs and dives. The others are fragile, can do only one specific thing and, except for M36/M10, are also slow and clunky. My comment was explaining how effective the target reduction of the medium tanks in late game was once allied TDs are vetted. In: COH2 Balance

I agree the Jackson is a bit much but this change is functionally a non change. It would be like reducing the mg damage on the pwerfer to tone it down. It's checking a box to say it was nerfed without actually changing anything. It's a "nerf not a nerf and" nerfs" are more fan service than balance changes. see it as you like this is the explanation provided: "With the reduction on armour of certain Axis tanks, along with the M36 receiving improved penetration from previous patches, the unit no longer needs high veterancy bonuses for penetration." To make mediums less likely to die in late game. Now calculate the probability of allied TDs hitting a PzIV once they get their accuracy bonuses and calculate at what range each of them has 100% to hit it. In: COH2 Balance

Kinda like the ost art officer used to do with werfer and lefh, but just with pits. Then pits can be built a bit further back, there's a no smoke light arty option, an attempt at an asymmetrical solution to the mobile mortar and by making Pyro even more attractive we can justify ukf have 348 different variations of healing despite tommies having the most cost effective healing in the game by a large margin.
