Guess it's been a while since I've played with Heavy cav then. And yeah Airborne should maybe get smoke with the Thompson upgrade. Anyhow I suppose my over reliance of smoke comes from Red Orchestra 2 where we mostly advance thanks to smoke. In: COH2 Balance

Cavalry riflemen are CQB units armed with Thompsons and they're doctrinal, or at least would be. Plus all other short range assault infantry like for example Rangers, Commandos and Shocktroops all have smoke because they need it to survive longer ranged engagements and to enter their effective range or flank or whatever. But I'd rather have them in Mechanized where they belong as a replacement for the pretty useless Combat Engineers in the M3, rifle company already boosts regular rifles enough as to not warrant an additional assault type of rifle unit in the commander IMO. I move the infantry unit forward. On this they stretched out a chain, after a few steps forward they go back. - they react slowly to commands - I order the SU-85 to go back up, but it starts spinning on the spot or going forward (until the patch did not happen) - Return to the Shock Troops simultaneous use of smoke grenades and fragmentation. Because this is a super close combat unit requiring a huge micro. And without a simultaneous smoke and fragmentation grenades, they are useless. Bullshit, the path finding in this game is worse than in CoH even before the patch. They didn't even try improving it at all, just made it look like it. You can laugh at me but I dare you to start a game of CoH and tell me it has the same issues as CoH2. Yes maybe, but it's 20% of the time, in CoH2 it's more like 80 or 90%. In: Lobby

Their fragility is just a matter of having the least HP beyond mid-late. grenadier + command panzer4 is a great combo. the damage protection significantly boost the gren's survivability. and the USF were famously having problem with manpower-bleed before their terminator veterancy. It was also a UKF problem. But I don't know if giving 81 health to Gren models instead of just 80 will change that much. And I am not here to argue semantics and balance, I'm just here stating my opinion on the design problems that the Ostheer is facing as far as their 4 man infantry squads go. In: COH2 Balance

Whenever there were a lot flames or especially this phosphorus strike from Rifle Company on my screen, it dropped to 1 fps or something. However with my current specs I don't have any noticeable framedrop anymore in such a case. I think the Radeon 480 is pretty much on same level like the nvidia 1060, but I don't believe it has much to do with the GPU cuz until 2016 I had a very mediocre nvidia 750ti and I did not have any framedrop there as well. It's been reported that the game is better optimized for AMD graphics cards, you can google it even if you don't believe me. In: Lobby
Thread: What's your computer specification for Company of Heroes 2?1 Mar 2018, 19:46 PM Sony Gaming Laptop from 2011, discontinued sadly. Intel i5 2410M @ 2.3GHz, Turbo boost up to 2.9Ghz. nVidia GeForce 410M 1 gig of VRAM, overclocked almost to the max. Haven't played around with further overclocking altho there are topics that state more is possible, I just don't wanna risk it. 8 gigs of DDR3 RAM. I'm also going to mention that the game is further tweaked from the game config file located in the my documents folder as well as I've made several of the folders read only as to prevent the game from recording my games for example so more processing power is diverted to playing rather than recording a match. I'm not sure on the exact number but I'm getting from around 20-30 or more FPS, however it drops significantly when I'm viewing smoke or fire/artillery effects which leads me as well as others to believe it's because of bad optimization of said effects, not just because of my out dated hardware since I've seen people with GTX whatever expensive ass cards whine about it as well.
