That's probably what stat.coh2.hu advertises as the barrage weapon of the respective mortars. Despite of the range of the weapon, the ability (barrage) still respects the range of the barrage. This should be range 80 for both mortars. Most likely the 106 range reflects the range the barrage attains at Vet3. I'm too lazy to scan the actual game files by now, but the fact that the speed of the barrage of the USF mortar is even faster than the speed of the barrage of the OST mortar (which is ridiculously fast, and iirc was never nerfed), only helps to prove how ridiculous the USF mortar is. I guess i just expecting an AT vehicle to beat the an AA tank without problems. Quite honestly i never really used the puma; i underestimated how papery it is. So i guess my answer is that i really did have bad luck. The 4 shots that hit the centaur barely did any damage. At that rate i would have needed 10+ shots to kill it. The chance of penetration for Puma varies wildly depending on range. At max range, vs the Centaur you should have a 50% chance of penetration. At point-blank range the chance becomes 100%. You need 6 penetrating hits (with the Puma) to kill the centaur. Thus, your estimate was entirely correct! Alternatively, you could use your superior mobility/range/sight and try to flank the Centaur a bit to the side/rear, where you have an almost-guaranteed chance to penetrate. In: Strategy Desk

If I am not mistaken, at max-range (35) the moving DPS of PGrens should be 2.28, which means it overtakes the stationary DPS of PGrens (since cooldown is massively decreased). To help us debug, I get the following values for range/moving dependent parameters at range 35 and moving: Code aim_time (ready & fire): 0.46875 burst: 0.064453125 rof: 10 cooldown: 0.5 time_reload: pi accuracy: 0.36 In: COH2 Gameplay

Unlike SMGs that don't deal any damage at beyond range 10-15 tops, PG MP44s deal great damage. PGrens outdps unupgraded grenadiers up until range 34 (max range is 35) (their moving DPS is also vastly superior) PGrens outdps lmg-grens until range 25, when lmg-grens overtake. (all the-while PGrens have superior received accuracy to grenadiers, and now have access to the god-grenade) In: Lobby

Puma sight range: 50 Puma gun range: 50 Centaur (and other Medium Armour) gun range: 40 If Puma can shoot at it, Puma can also spot it for itself. Most likely you ran a tight corner somewhere and went too close to the Centaur. Puma has good enough penetration for medium armour paper-armor, and is a beast if you micro it properly. And I´m becoming a broken CD player here stating the same over and over again. Late-game buffs in the form of the following points would fix Ostheer: - Giving the Ostheer Panther the OKW Panther stats (that means better accuracy on the MGs and on the move). - Increasing the Tiger I frontal armor by 30 or so points. - Giving Panzergrens the Volks StG that´s also good on range. - Panzer IV needs a very small penetration increase. Please note that those are small buffs and wouldn´t throw over the whole game but let Ostheer compete again. Note that giving Pgrens the Volks StG would be a humongous nerf* to their performance. The DPS difference for the two guns at far is almost negligible (you never use it for far, anyway), but the DPS difference in close or mid-range is massive. I don't have access to my dps calculator right now. However, from Cruzz's post: Code PGrens DPS (stationary) 12.91 8.48 1.68 (moving) 7.9 5.22 1.19 Volks DPS (stationary) 7.81 5.43 1.97 (moving) 4.55 3.33 1.4 (ranges are 10 - 20 - 35) Those kind of Panther buffs are OK (i.e, they will not cause a disturbance in the force the same way as a reload buff). The real reason why OKW Panther is head and shoulders above the OST panther is the OKW Combat Blitz. Poor OST Tiger/Panther had their Blitzkrieg ability nerfed to make them balanced, and vulnerable. The same principle was not followed when designing OKW/Brit Combat Blitz/Emergency Warspeed. (everything else seems good) In: Lobby
Thread: the issue with penal veterancy6 Jul 2016, 11:08 AM Grens has a native -9% received accuracy, but Penals have far greater squad sizes. A side-effect of smaller-squad size is that some squad members have higher chance of being focus-fired upon (and dying faster). Thankfully, for LMG grens most of their damage output comes from the LMG. However, you have the reverse effect happening when you have 6-member penals being fired upon. Thread: the issue with penal veterancy6 Jul 2016, 10:32 AM It's fair that Penals lose either one accuracy bonus (to make them same-y with other squads), or their received accuracy bonus (to make them glass-canons/harassment infantry, but make the flamethrower completely redundant). IMO, all infantry veterancy (+target size), including 5-star-vet, should be normalized relative to reinforcement cost. However, due to 1) the dominance of slot items (LMGs), 2)the disparity of default weapon profiles and 3) differing unit utility (e.g., generalist or specialist), it is tough to make the call where. However, given that Penals now have good rifles, there's little reason to also give them the opportunity to turn into death-gods if they ever capture an LMG34. In: COH2 Balance
