I will kinda distance from seeking now. And focus more on the anti cheat system.
Does anyone here actually think relic went and update their cheat-system? The most of updates on the game is being made by community anyways, so i highly doubt they went and fix something they couldn't set up at start.
Help me to understand that: It's normal to you that Relic has a Community Manager working on the game. Coders working on the game that created 64 bit version. Invested thousands of dollars into CoH2 tournaments in the last 2 years.
But them updating the anti cheat system makes 0 sense to you??
And how do you update the anti-cheat system, without updating the game? Also you are saying that relic had stored all the replays of all the games, and that they put them through new VAC? I am not a smart man, but doesn't anti-cheat work in a way, that you have to actively play to get detected and get banned?
We will never know and for a good reason. If we knew details about the system then every future hacker knows what to do in order to not getting caught.
However it's a weird assumption that the CoH2 Game Servers would need to be "patched" in the sense of the players needing to download something(?) for a cheat system getting updated.
And yes it's totally possible that Relic has millions of replays stored somewhere and has a system that is running secret test cases on them. |
IMO, someone should just map hack, post a video on youtube, and then will see, how good is the new anti-cheat system.

How do someone knows if it is perma ban or tempo ban? Because his screen only shows "You have been banned from online play"
Read again what I wrote.
Have you been racist/homophobic in the chat in past? Have you teamkilled someone before? How often have you done it? Have you cheated before? |
If someone suddenly receives a messege in the game menu "You have been banned from online play", is it permanent ban or temporary ban?
After reading the code of conduct, most people should be able to figure that out for themselves, just try to remember of what you have done wrong in the past. If it's smaller offenses like teamkilling or being toxic in chat, it's a temporary ban for at least 2 weeks, with the duration increasing for each repeated offense up to a permanent ban.
Hacking is obviously always a permaban |
Thoton you have 300 AT games with Seaking. But obviously he never map hacked when he played with you right?
Also, please have more ppl defend you while zero people have downloaded and reviewed the match.
Oh geez, this just sounds like bias & salt against the T.R. Clan.
In fact, some of the people in T.R. were actually against seeking in the whole maphack case and believed the accusers, and a lot of them were pretty neutral.
As others said, in the future you should provide timestamps and/or videoclips with strong evidence of hacks being used, otherwise it just looks like a joke |
It feels good that in the end, justice has been served... it would have been a horrible feeling if all of this prehistory happened against an innocent person. I think the least people expected an anti-cheat update like this.
And I know this probably has been said a dozen times already, but we had to publish this case, nobody (probably not even Relic) expected such an update after the initial report got rejected due to "not enough compelling evidence". MasterLeague events were ahead, and many players were aware of the suspicions against seeking and said "There is no way I will play MasterLeague against a (potential) cheater". So not sure what Relic means if that jab above is aimed towards us here.
If seeking would have been banned from ML without any arguments & transparency, there would have been a huge outcry as well. |
I hope, that it is one of those 5$ milkshakes
 |
Woah, that's crazy. Does cut-off mean neutral or occupied by the opponent? Because the commander also has this neutralizing-ability, that would be a bit crazy ...
neutralizing a point is enough to cut adjacent sectors off, the cutoff point does not need to be occupied by the enemy
a sector is cutoff when it is occupied by you but not connected to your base HQ |
What is the requirement for him to pull it off? In the description it only says, that frontline and cut-off sectors are getting bombarded. However, frontline sectors exist at any time in the game, that's dangerous enough I think. How exactly does this ability work?
frontline sectors in this case here are the territory sectors that are the closest to the enemy but not cut off, those get hit by light mortar fire only. This was done so the ability always does something and it only happens if you are not cut-off, however ofc it's not worth the cost at all as the ability only works at ~5% effectiveness here.
100% effectiveness of the ability kicks in if the sector is cut-off. Basically your units get hit by dozens of stuka dive bombs, artillery grenades and panzerwerfer barrages in extremely quick succession until everything is dead. The damage output can be so big that I've seen fullhealth ISU-152's getting destroyed within 5 seconds |
However, at around minute 29 the opponent used his "Close the pocket" ability (Encirclement doctrine) and wiped my complete infantry and team weapons. Can you please explain to me, how to counter/react to this? Am I actually supposed to leave all of the frontline sectors and return to base while the ability is active? I have never encountered this, that's why I got hit so hard. We only managed to come back because they didnt capitalize on it and I was floating MP big time.
Unfortunately, most of the times it's already too late to retreat if the enemy activated it already. Close the Pocket basically deletes your entire army if the enemy manages to pull it off. Only vehicles have a decent chance to survive if you pull them out fast. But yes ofc try the same with infantry and hit the retreat button asap.
The best way to counter this ability is by not allowing your enemy to pull it off. This means once you realized that he picked this commander: Immediately plant fuel/ammo caches on the 2 or 3 points that cut off the entire map. Pay attention for hidden stormtroopers in the area and the health of the caches |
