Guards need an adjustment but comparing Guards to Pshrek PGrens is a bad comparison. Guards dont lose AI ability with PTRS in addition to getting 2 lmgs while Pgrens lose 50% of their AI firepower with the shrek upgrade.
Pretty sure Pgrens do good damage to Guards at medium Range with no upgrade as Pgrens Stgs do pretty good damage at mid-close range when unupgraded.
then why PW is never used and considered by the large majority of player bad ?
PW is in a bad Tier that isnt required by OST. Typically teching up to t4 and building t4 isnt worth getting a PW
Its also pretty meh since its barrage is just one large barrage that doesnt do the that much damage, the Katy provides good area denial to infantry while also being effective against static positions. The PW doesnt do either of these as effective as the Katy.
not really its just wasting T34. because T34 will die after panther comes.
Losing a t34 for a jadg or ele is always worth. Also a super heavy TD plus a panther is a ton of fuel and you should attempt to prevent the opponent from being able to field these heavy resource sink units by having superior field presence before these units arrive.
I mean if we wanna talk about WFA tech they are inherently flawed, nonlinear teching is lame and has created an imbalance as typically one tech (LT and Battlegroupe) will always be favored over the other (Capt and Mech). If the WFA teching was linear it would be easier to balance with other factions as units could be better timed.
Of course this would require changes how the techs work, units would have to be moved around and I doubt anything like this will ever be implemented but it would go a long way in creating a better balanced game.
