Yes in theory it's not bad but ingame there is never a reason to build one. Problem is it doesn't have range so you pretty much rely on risky all in moves to fight our opponents tanks. Just trading shots doesn't really work because you have to get close and at guns or raks will kill you. In: COH2 Balance |

I feel like the real problem is how bad the EZ-8 is compared to the regular sherman. Its AI just sucks too much. I would prefer the standard sherman even if they cost the same lol. In: COH2 Balance |

First of all the US early game is fine. There are problems vs OKW on maps with strong cut offs but thats more of a map than a faction issues. USF isn't strong in teamgames but that's not an early game issue. It's important to remember that you need to play completely different styles against wehr and OKW. (roughly speaking spread against wehr, keep stuff together vs OKW) Secondly, people need to let go of the "I want my faction to be less of a inconvcenience to play" mentality. There are still quite a lot of important decisions left to make in USF tech and thats a good thing. I want to be forced to make decisions with consequences. I don't want to get upgrades without additional fuel costs so they become a no brainer. I don't want to have access to every unit in the tech tree every game without any disadvantage. The most important tech decision is LT vs Cpt. You can change the balance of those two to make the decision more interesting but do NOT simply remove it by making tech linear. When do I tech grenades ? Another interesting decision to make. It's totally vaild to go quick grenades before teching. Why remove that possibility ? Similar story with weapon rack upgrade. Do I want to delay my light vehicle to get an infantry firepower boost ? I dont want to play this game on autopilot mode. Leave US tech as it is. In: COH2 Balance |

I've heard this line of argument quite a few times online from non germans and it's just so fundamentally wrong. History isn't rewritten. In certain cases trying to rewrite history will land you in jail. The nazi history is omnipresent in the public debate here in Germany. Your assumption about Germans blocking out history couldn't be more wrong. It's like saying the US is communist or saudi arabia a liberal country or switzerland a dictatorship. If you want an example of a country not shying away from confronting its history first country you think of should be Germany. You're confusing two things. Nazi history and modern day right wing extremism as a topic is the opposite of a taboo here in Germany. There is still a certain sense of guilt present in German society and the general attitude is that national socialism has to be talked about regularly so it's not forgotten and mistakes won't be repeated etc etc. You will hear this narrative all the time in Germany so it can get annoying (you can only watch so many documentaries about hitler, have so many remembrance days for nazi atrocities xyz and so on before it gets on your nerves) but most people generally agree with it. The exertion of national socialism however is a massive taboo. To the extent that the more explicit forms are straight up ciminalized. (swastikas, hitler salute etc) If the party closest to national socialism ideologically (NPD) would gain significant followership it'd be banned in no time. The only reason it hasn't happened yet is that it's feared a ban would give modern day nazis argumentative leverage and the party is practically meaningless. Imo CoH is different from movies or story driven video games like Wolfenstein in the sense that people identify a lot with the factions (which is retarded but they still do it). I'm not too keen on giving them the symbolic material to go with. In: Lobby |

You didn't balance mp and fuel. Could have teched, instead you built 50cal and dropped an atg. Most people would not play 4 rifles. I personally like it though. Skipping AA HT may be worth consideration after having such good early game map control. If your enemy builds a useless pak you're one unit ahead already and the quick sherman can seal the deal. Other than that your opponent just had a slightly higher basic skill level. Thats why you lost mid late game. (less idle units, more controlled unit movement, better anticipation etc. it all comes with practice) In: Replays |

Noob Question but I can't seem to figure out how these work. They will stay in their initial position when moving or deleting the object spline (even though they sometimes randomly change their look) and I don't know how to modify or simply get rid of them. As momo said the last automatch version of this map was a classic auto veto. It's just fundamentally flawed in so many ways. No coh2 map has ever gone from awful to good. Only already solid maps with flaws have developed to be good. |
