ostherlitz desperately doing everything to not read a post at all, but still respond to it, as expected


You want the mortar to keep wiping units,wehrmacht wont stand a chance vs it as grenadiers have to stay still,and when they do=wiped.There is no getting round this basic fact.You want this basic fact to remain.And really i dont find ostheerlitz a bad name,thinking about changing mine.Its good to be recognized as defender of downtrodden faction.

Lets ignore the part where ost mortar would #rek USF mortar regardless of vet, because USF mortar would never be able to shoot back, unless over extended and endangered by grens getting close.

Lets ignore it would be lowest range indirect fire unit, but definitely not cheapest.

Grens cant get to mortar if they are covered by rifles,they will be slaughtered on the move and if they stay still they will be wiped .

No question of being overextended because grens cant push rifles head on,and the rate at which usf mortar kills is waay faster than ost mortar.

Let me remind you that 15 mp more justified volks becoming potent, reliable mainline infantry that performs better then grens after being pushovers owned hard by even conscripts.

30 mp more justified close range exclusively penals coming from being everyone pushovers to actually being AI specialists effective at all ranges.

These are just two examples.

what the hell so people are saying just increase the price to 320 mp and keep the mortar as it is lol...if this is how unit balance works then whole lot of units need re adjusting if thats the case...i mean give greandiers better stats and dual lmg and i will gladly pay 320 mp for them lol

A faction cant deal with early MGs in buildings. Do you:

a) give them t0 mortar with medium spread (to cover the area of most buildings), medium damage
b) give them a) mortar with flame mortar round ability
c) give them a) mortar with smoke mortar round ability
d) give them short range, high accuracy, high damage mortar, then increase price when people complain its OP

I would choose d if USF had problems with MGs inside super armored, tiny houses, but it doesn't make much sense for all other things.

Its like giving a faction that suffers from lack of AT a short range AT gun that has a high chance to kill any vehicle in 1 shot.

So you are really justifying a 2.4 sec reload Mortar with insane accuracy cause it cost 280 ? xD

But i tought it is just against the MG42. As the legend tell USF don't have anything against MG42 and need the mortar desperately against it.
Why would it be cheaper? you don't need it for that price then buy a pack howi on your next tier. It should be better.

AFAIK, 2,4 second reload is false. The difference between the mortars is this:

USF: 3,31 reload, 8 scattermax (gets total -40% scatter with vet 1 and 2), 80 range
Ost: 4,31 reload, 7 scattermax (gets total -20% scatter with vet 2), 106 range

That's probably what stat.coh2.hu advertises as the barrage weapon of the respective mortars.

Despite of the range of the weapon, the ability (barrage) still respects the range of the barrage. This should be range 80 for both mortars.

Most likely the 106 range reflects the range the barrage attains at Vet3.

I'm too lazy to scan the actual game files by now, but the fact that the speed of the barrage of the USF mortar is even faster than the speed of the barrage of the OST mortar (which is ridiculously fast, and iirc was never nerfed), only helps to prove how ridiculous the USF mortar is.

It would be strange for the Ost mortar's stats to take account its veterancy, because the USF mortar's doesn't unless it starts with less than 80 range and gets it from vet 3. As far as I can tell, the Ost mortar has a 106 range barrage.

Yes the USF mortar is OP. But its not the end of the fucking world. Mortars have counters.

USF mortar is OP, either is should get reduce range to 60 with current/simil performance or nerf performance equal to SU one.

-20% scatter
-20% scatter, -40% ability recharge time
+33% max range

Unlocks the 'Counter Barrage' ability
-20% scatter, -40% barrage recharge
+33% barrage range

This is the vet. All mortars besides 120mm, have 80 range and get improved barrange range on vet.
