Suggestion- unique Flamethrower Rifleman unit

Flamers on infantry isn't bad, Penals have had this since Day 1 and I haven't heard people complain Penals are OP for a very long time. It's New Rifle Vet + New Flames that made it over-perform.


People were complaining of them before this patch. Are Allied players complaining because every Grenadier squad is upgraded with LMG or PZ with Shreck when you have the ammo for it? no. Same here, but since its Allied units, its obviously wrong to have it.

Lol yes they are, people have been complaining about LMG Grens forever.

Nop, read again. I'm not talking about the upgrade itself but the accessibility. Usually people are saying LMG is OP or BAR is OP, nerf it. Now we have : "Flamer shouldn't be an upgrade for rifle but a dedicated unit so we make sure there are less on the battlefield". Would you agree if I write "LMG shouldn't be an upgrade for Grenadier but a dedicated squad you buy from T2 or T3?". "Shreck shouldn't be an upgrade for Volks but a dedicated unit you buy from T1".

We can discuss if a flamer upgrade is relevant on a mainline unit, same as LMG or shrek on a mainline unit. But inventing gimmick redesign because the doctrine works too well is rubbish.

Aren't flamer volks coming soon? imagine how quick they are gonna vet! Re balancing rifles is pointless atm till these guys come on the scene or when they do come they will come out just as op as rifles currently are and rifles will be nerfed. That said when it happens there will be fun times , balance is a dirty word at relic hq ;-)

Another would be to just replace the rifle flamethrower with an assault engineer call-in.

Penals have no useful grenade, no smoke grenade, no AT grenade, no long range damage, (now)worse defensive scaling and they need to get there close and personal.

Oh and penals can't be build with vet already.

I'm not sure if you realise it, but in your rush to declare Penals UP, you actually just supported normal Riflemen not having access to the Flamethower.

What if flamer was moved on to RETs?

Lets ignore sprice though.

This is exactly the same issue as volk shrecks, mainline infantry is getting a weapon upgrade that only specialist should have.

Flamers should definitely cost Muni, but I like the general idea.

280MP rifles which are able to upgrade Flamers, and don't have access to Nades.

Flamers on RETs might also be good but I think that might cause problems in the future.

So the best way to give flamer to normal rifleman is to make sure the unit is useless and nobody dare to build one. Interesting conception of Balance :)

Oh god please give my Rear Echelons flamers, I can get 8 of those bad boys with flamers and zooks I could watch the tears of everyone.

In other words, giving flamers to rear echelons is just a silly idea. Rear Echelons are potent enough in the early game without getting flamer throwers, in fact flamer throwers would mean echelon spam would be viable into mid and late game. That's not what I reckon anyone would want the standard meta to be, especially with how much they cost now.

To be honest Riflemen are fine. Grenadier LMG's dissuade them from closing in for Ost Heer and once OKW gets their Obers out the Rifle flamers stop being as potent.

The only thing that makes rifle company OP is people stupid enough to not move away from green cover vs flamers
Why do people act as if all the other riflemen in the squad drop their rifle just because the lead guy has a flamer? Those 4 leftover Garands will be more than happy to say hello to the squad you just removed from green cover.

Rear Echelons with flamers would be OP, because they are spammable, cost very little popcap, cause almost no MP drain, are cheap to reinforce and replace, and would leave your vetted riflemen a free weapons slot. I fear it would exacerbate, not fix, the existing situation.

Why must flametrower always wipe n squads that are in building independently on their count , and hp bar ?

It is really really bad can you change it please ? its really weir when you need to move your infantry out fof house when you 1 flmaers or the squad will die in 3 shots ? And dont forget mgs in buildings again clown cars
