Should Mortar Pit cost fuel?

Just thought I'd throw this out there. Seeing as to how the bloody thing is so hard to get in a hard fought match, why not decrease it's Manpower cost and add a fuel cost to compensate? Perhaps make it cost 300 MP and 40 Fuel (Cost up for discussion), closer to the price of Mortar Halftracks but slightly more expensive?

I kind of like the idea... maybe closer to the 20-30 Fuel Range. Depends... if the teching changes in the Preview Mod go live then Manpower is slightly better for Brits so it might not be needed. That, and seeing what Relic ends up doing with Brace. If they they keep the 90 sec cooldown I'd be kind of loathe to spend fuel on something that is going to get LeiGed down easily.

Definetely. Also relic if you per chance see this thread, Gib Rifle sections 28 manpower to reinforce.

I rather see wehr mortar get a +5 range buff or damage buff vs building to counter mortar emplacement like coh1.
OKW in the other hand, destroy emplacement easily with LeiG.

10 fuel max. Why would would you put it close to the price of a mortar halftrack. The mortar halftrack is mobile and can shoot incendiary shells, that's why it costs how much it does.

Keep in mind that the Mortar Pit has not one, but two Mortar Tubes. That's twice the firepower. Hence the elevated Fuel cost. 10 Fuel seems too small for knocking off 100 MP. Plus it helps make building one more viable as the match goes on, where the Upkeep gets rather high and your MP income low...

Now it only makes sense to make building this mid-late game more viable, when more blobs and arty are roaming around the map. This emplacement costing MP alone only gives an illusion of being cheap when in reality, it's locked out of Late Game due to lack of Manpower (Unless of course you are winning and likely no longer need it)..

Yup. HMG42 bunkers, Pak43 and LeFH18 should cost fuel as well.

MG Bunkers cost munitions, Pak 43 and LeFH can be decrewed easily, none of these things have Brace.

no, and i'm not sure the other brit emplacements should cost fuel either, although i understand why they do.

if fuel cost is added, then everything else will have fuel requirements. pak43 and such. the brace ability needs to have a longer cool down on it.

Emplacements definitely need tweaks, but not fuel cost for mortar pits. Just fix the brace then tweak the price accordingly.

I'm just afraid that decreasing the manpower cost on it's own will result in the Mortar Pit being nerfed from being spammed like crazy. I thought the fuel cost would be a good compromise since fuel isn't too big of an issue later in the match and can't be spammed early on.

During the alpha, how much fuel did the Mortar Pit cost? I would think at least 25 Fuel was reasonable.
