I've had THE moment for MG42 last night.

Setting up against the conscripts who didn't spot me in time, read to fire, FIR..... reload.

Indeed, this is the precise reason for this topic. There is no level of skill involved in knowing when your mg is going to reload or working around it. It is just an easy way to get de-crewed. The ONE thing you can do is spend munitions to activate incendiary round before a fight.

Does anyone know if it reloads the old ammo box after using incendiary round instead of starting a new one?

Haven't tested but I'm pretty sure they load a fresh belt.

it will be included in the patch that also shows the HP of manned support weapons

Pigs could fly.

i thought if the MG stands up and sits down again then it reloads?

if thats not the case, why not have a dual check

if time since in combat > 15 seconds and ammo < 20 rounds then reload weapon

Should be automatic. Like the tank turret moving back to facing front after out of combat

How about automatic reload after say 15 seconds of being out of combat?

yeah I like to see both manual button and automatic reload when not in combat feature on all mg's

At the very least if an MG team packs up, upon setting up they should have a fresh clip.

Settting it to automatic is a really bad idea. It would just mean knowing the timer to set up a frontal push against an MG.

Let's say its 20s after combat. Aproach MG and pullback, wait 20s, and then push when he is reloading.

Manual or having it's magazined reloaded after picking it up.

Why not just have it instantly refresh the magazine after being out of combat for 20 seconds?

define "out of combat"

(this is actually important; in DoW2 combat is shooting or meleeing something)

When it is not attacking or being attacked. In the game, this is identified by a flashing crosshair below the unit's icon at the top right of the screen.
