Does the Centaur need fire suppression?

Ostwind has no suppression fire, which makes counter blobs difficult. Add suppression fire to Ostwind, or remove it from the Centaur.

Nope. Cause ground attack countering all Axis smoke abilities. Its unfair, cause Ostwind cant supress runnig blob, but 4x german squads just annihilated by Centaur

I don't know what's being asked here. Ostwind is fine if even a bit on the strong side. Centaur is also fine.

Timing... these units are hard to compare since they don't meet the same requirements. Technically Brummbar and Centaur have more similar requirements.

Centaur has suppression?


The weapon burst (ability) has suppression. The regular shots do not.

Ostwind has no suppression fire, which makes counter blobs difficult. Add suppression fire to Ostwind, or remove it from the Centaur.

Any luck with the Ostwind suppression bulletins? You also have arguably the best MG in the game - MG42.

Ostwind, even with a bulletin, will suppress fire like a Centaur only when the pigs fly.
Vickers is the same as MG-42, this is a reskin, people who live in glass houses should not throw stones.

If anything Ostwind on the strong side. Seems much more lethal compared to centaur and already makes you think twice even trying to snare it with a damaged model squad.

Yep. The only significant differences between MG42 and Vickers is the 0 range accuracy (MG-42 flatlines like a SMG), about 33% suppression, and Vet 1 abilities. Damage is about the same.

Its absolutely a nerfed reskin.

Interestingly, the Vickers does MASSIVE damage at point blank, which makes it REALLY BAD at close range suppression due to kills.

Under extraordinary rare circumstances, if a squad happens to be right in front of a vickers, like point black, it will decimate the squad in question.


However, the MG-42 is essentially the same in this regard, anything it shoots at the same range will die VERY quickly.

ultimately the damage feels the exact same most of the time

vickers is considered worse then .50 cal, while MG42 is considered the best. Check serelia's site and you'll see why it the case. It has mostly up to date data with numbers and not just arbitrary evaluations like "good", "medium", "low". Also who knows how fresh is data there.

Might be just me but I've always thought the Vickers had the best accuracy of all MGs. Its gotten even better with the new "Take Aim" ability.

I feel like I win most of my MG vs MG duels with the Vickers. It wins more than it loses.

If you leave the centaur still long enough to use the ability in team games then shrek squads will have already taken it down to 1/4 health.
