why not nerf pathfinder?

pathfinder can summom at 0cp 290manpower and have two M1C sniper rife,kill enemy at lower 40/100 health when hit,can update two bar at the cost ammun 120.

Jäger Light Infantry summon at 1CP! 280manpower have no sniper rife, only can upgrade sniper rife at TIE2orTIE3 and cost ammun!!!!!!!!!!! and only have 1 sniper rife even it kill enemy at lower 90/100 health.

why the pathfinder have sniper rife when summoned? and 0cp? look the Jäger

I main OST and I win against Pathfinders easily with LMG Grens, they're useless on their own. They got utility, but they don't seem to do much combat wise. People get Pathfinder for their utility and scouting ability, not for combat. There's no need to nerf something that doesn't do much. Are you sure it's not a problem of you not knowing how to counter them?

Based on what you said there, there is no technique one would need to learn through experience to counter.

When was last time you have seen pathfinders used at competitive level anywhere?

That's why.

Being salty about weaker unit isn't going to get that unit nerfed.

That's REALLY generalist mate, we're talking USF pathfinders here, which can easily be countered with... as good as every unit because pathfinders suck :D

OP should probable look for the correct stats (though i think serealia is showing the wrong weapon profiles, unless post rework Pathfinders use a different one).

IIRC Path "crit" is only doing at most 16dmg (if their base dmg is 16) and JLI 40dmg.


But don't expect much from OP (checks post history). Hey, but at least we are improving. At least this thread have more than 1 sentence.

Pathfinder and JLI would be better designed as lower cost/pop support unit with critical kill a timed a ability.

The IR Pathfinders off map is expensive but simply broken and it should be look at.

As for weapons Pathfinder's weapons combination is messed up. They are using the paras carbines which is an "elite" weapon with high close DPS and scoped weapon with a reverse DPS curve that is bad at close range.

LOL! Just LOL! That 290 MP unit will consistently lose to 200 MP Pioneers, 260 MP Volks, 240 MP Grens, 280 MP PFs.

Pathfinders are one of the most overpriced, underpreforming units in the game, if not THE most overpriced underpreforming units.

Pathfinders are only worth it in team games imo and even then they aren't that great. The vision is more useful on some bigger maps or when used to spot for a teammates TD/call-in

I actually was doing some testing one day on my own, seeing at what health pathfinders could "crit" models. The sniper itself does 16 damage, but if the model getting hit is at 32hp or lower, the sniper will kill the model.

I might not had been clear. I stated how much dmg the crit component has outside of the base dmg of the Rifle. Cause i had to use the old coh2 stats site it might had not have the correct values for the base dmg so i assumed it's correct and it's both 16. If the crits are at 40% HP and 70%HP then, the threshold is at 32HP and 56HP respectively.

Which translates to the values i gave before:

Pathfinders are doing 16dmg + 0/16dmg
JLI are doing 16dmg + 0/40dmg

Regular paths are pretty meh on their own but they're good when they're setup in cover and have another squad to assit with damage. The 50 sight range just invalidates MG42 movement though which is really annoying.

I&R paths on the other hand are just better...
