Thread: USA scotts (M8A1)12 Sep 2021, 21:01 PM If Scott's maneuverability is an issue, perhaps reduce rotation rate and acceleration to better punish a slow reaction. Is the Scott delivering too much damage? I always find them flimsy and difficult to protect when being flanked on account of USF lacking even a general purpose mine to permanently disable an aggressive P4 or P5 push. The baby mines just give you a bit more time to react and sometimes that isn't enough. We've got to be careful with this unit, though. With USF's lack of non-doctrinal rocket artillery, something has to be able to punish blobs. In: COH2 Balance

Or is it just a suppression boost when the half track is stationary? I've played a lot of USF 1s in the past 2 months and i always make sure to stop the vehicle if i want to suppress a squad. The faction design is locking either tool behind a tech upgrade, making you have to choose which you want early game or getting them both after the tech upgrade. Uhhh a stationary MG position is nice but it's no replacement for a mobile squad. Faction design is inherently poor because of the choice between hard AT and suppression. Have you ever thought of buffing the AA HT suppression? Or anything really. The AA mode fixed all of it's AA problems but it's suppression and clumsiness to use (must use handbreak, which can lead to problems), not to mention the 2 shot without any smoke or anything really force you to backtech to lieutenant for the MG The balance team specifically reduced the suppression of the AA HT some time ago. Maybe it was too good, I don't remember, but you're right in that the flimsiness of the vehicle makes it difficult to keep alive in some cases. I think situations like these (with vehicles that aren't meant to be as destructive or wiping instantly) are unintentional and just a result of the implementation of mechanics of cover and individual model pathing especially around objects. I appreciate your reminder that the Axis have many tools to deal with Scotts which are nowhere near as devastating as tier 4 brumbär/pwerfer or stuka zu fuß. In: COH2 Balance

Thread: best 4v4 strats as allies16 Aug 2021, 19:53 PM Well, from the perspective of an arranged team: You're going to want to be able to counter lefh 18s which means choosing a commander with a targeted, small-area bombardment. For me, that's been the IL-2 bomb drop but I think USF's infantry company time on target barrage gets the job done too. You will also want commander choices that will let you call in loiter aircraft (primarily to be used defensively to keep away from schwerer HQ aa fire) and artillery. AVRE commanders and ISU-152 commanders are good for wiping veteran infantry. In much of the early and mid game your actions and build orders are going to be map dependent. If there are key buildings that need to be held then you are going to want to get units inside them or prepare counters or ignore the garrison. Allied infantry with LMGs are great so that usually means getting elite infantry like Guards or Airborne. Vickers K halftrack drop for the Brits (or even Vikers K drops for your Soviet conscript friends). Infantry company for USF, too. In: Strategy Desk
