Red Orchestra 2 is hardly dead...
Well, Red Orchestra series for FPS genre is pretty much what CoH series is for RTS genre.
A unique, type of thing with niche community, but that doesn't mean that it is unpopular or 'dead' at all. |
Noun, no disrespect intended here, but it's canned responses like this, without even as much as acknowledging the problem raised, is what makes many here feel like things won't change.
Because Noun is not a person to acknowledge for anything.
His job is to gather and pass feedback from community to devs and informations from devs right back to us.
Be happy he talks to us at all, because vast majority of CMs simply ignore community and limit themselves to posting patch notes/tweets and other important but not community engaging stuff. |
Yes, it is.
I've lost plenty of games just because my enemy had a Tiger Ace and I did not.
And we all know relic thinks TA is fine unit and it will never ever be nerfed at all, because we all know that for relic the balance doesn't matter |
Comebacks are good, but not when they feel like the game is artificially creating them. Comebacks should be done by the players not the game.
And they are.
TA is only exception from that rule, but it will be butchered by nerfs soon enough.
Now, lets not make any more offtopic here. |
This!!!
The comeback mechanic is way too much! So often you can have the advantage and have majority of the map for a long time then.. boom a lucky mortar hit or two and now its even.. maybe your even behind.. your 15 min of brilliant play down the drain.. not really motivates you to improve your play.
yes RNG was in coh1 too but not at this level.
CoH series and DoW2 were always about comebacks.
Its not spamcraft, where you loose one barracks or 5 more units and loose all game because of it. |
Wut? The surpression doesn't increase. Bystanding units just get surpressed too. (Ok, thats wording, but I wanted to make this clear so that we are on the same page) And I am pretty sure thats the same for the Maxim.
German MG42:
- Increased nearby suppression multiplier from .4 -> .55. This applies 55% of the weapon’s suppression to nearby squads.
- Increased nearby suppression radius rom 10 -> 12
This pretty much means the more squads are in AoE, the better MG42 suppression is.
Unless I've made some horrible mistake in understanding this.
Maxims values should be lower for that, but I couldn't dig them up. |
i think we all know what you guys would say if a german complained that 1 mg42 couldnt stop 3 cons...
I'm talking about blob, zero attempting at micro or flanking, just a-move.
You out of all should know it best that MG42 suppression increases the more entities it shoots at, maxim doesn't share this benefit as far as I'm aware.
And don't say 'you guys' to me. I like playing germans as much as soviets. Only happens I don't agree with german only players bitching more then with soviet ones. |
I prefer strats that can't be countered with lucky mortar shot |
What? Both of you didnt have maxims or snipers when the panzergrenadiers brought chaos, you only had connscripts, its like a paradise for PzGrens lol.
Not sure if you're aware, but 3 PGs actually walk over maxim frontally as a blob, no micro needed.
And sniper 15 second ROF also isn't a formidable stopping power to a blob, especially when squad members don't even hit the ground as they go in german sniper case. |
there were very very very few soviet paratroopers so I don't see a reason to put them in-game
Well, there was still more soviet paratroopers then Ostwinds.
Not saying they should be in, just underlining that its not an argument when unit that was made in quantity of less then 50 is a stock unit. |
