The vCoH Brits, lumbering and static, do not capture the essence of the post-Normandy army.
The CoH1 British seemed more like an anti-partisan force funny enough. They operate out of Command Trucks, patrol everywhere, and rely on Officers to hold their hands. |
I can see how that can happen, since you have the option of hoarding the entire game until you get one super-tank, or just playing normally but never getting any super weapons which kinda dulls the light they shined on them. |
Watching the tourney earlier, I feel even stronger about it. 3/4 games devolved into ISU vs Elefant. By the 3rd time I almost left the stream, it's just so boring. You see the ISU come out and you don't think "Will he be able to use this effectively?", you think "Oh here we go again.". |
Panzer Elite = something new in CoH2.
Ostheer clone with Panzer IV and Panther = something we already have.
Maybe OKW should also get Stug, Brumbar and Ostwind as stock Units? Don t add something new to the 2nd german faction!!!!Just clone the Ostheer!!!!
Oh quit crying like a bloody baby. It's one unit, the Panther tank, which was used in high numbers in the Ardennes and would be odd to design an army around that fight without one. I don't count the Panzer IV because the versions we get are clearly distinct from the ones Ostheer uses. I suppose next you'll say they should have Gewehr 98's because Ostheer already used Karabiner 98's? |
I would like to see a faction that is based on tank hunters, good infantry and maybe Flak 88 as a Pak replacement instead of adding old stuff from the Ostheer again to a new faction. This would be different then a Panzer IV or Panther again but "different" doesn t mean automatically bad.
Basically you want the Panzer Elite. |
And StuG's are already in Ostheer, so he'd complain about those too |
I feel like they should also ban the ISU and Elefant from this tournament. Half the mid-high level game I've watched lately end exactly the same regardless of how it was going before:
1. ISU comes out and forces the Germans to their base
2. Elefant comes out and chases the ISU back a bit
3. Multiple ZiS guns push up backed by ISU
4. Germans lose 80% or more of their Infantry, Elefant destroyed, gg. |
On second examination, the long barrel Panzer IV is most likely a Panzer IV Ausf. H, the muzzle break is exaggerated in size but that might just be a visibility thing (like how Conscripts are yellow or Grenadiers are bright camo, etc).
Which is weird because I've always assumed the OH Panzer IV was an H model, but maybe it was intended to be a G? Or maybe they're both H's interpreted by different modellers? Who knows. |
There's 2 Panzer IV's, and we don't know if they're doctrinal or not. One is probably an Ausf. F1 like the Command Tank, and the long barrel one which has a really weird muzzle break that I don't recognize, so I can't identify it. |
I thought there was a quick-save? Although I won't be surprised if there isn't. The game's final stages were developed in a hectic atmosphere (they didn't even know if the game would be released at that point) and the subsequent launch was a total mess... |
