Sure, nerf the browning or something, but only if that's a package deal with nerfing the DPS on FG42s and Obsersoldaten MGs. Overwhelming infantry firepower seems to be the only way to make them scale effectively throughout the game. And really, if the person you're facing down has put exorbitant amounts of munitions into LMG browning upgrades, you should be trying for non-infantry counters to that anyway. Rifle AT nades are terrible, the US AT gun is mediocre, and Bazookas are pretty poor even against medium armor.
Or you could just make dedicated machine gun teams do their job properly? The suppression isn't that strong and pinning takes ages. |
Does that work every time? That's fucking hilarious! |
I think it would be kinda interessting having either a Volkssturm, a Werwolves or a H-Youth Commander.
But I could imagine plenty reasons why relic wouldnt want to go near that kind of stuff.
But dangit, this would make for a badarse avatar.

Are you sure that isn't a partisan? Afaik Germany never allowed women in combat, not even during the bitter end. |
That sounds way more annoying than helpful. |
..what about the blob of 5 squads upgraded panzershreck volkz and 2 squads of obersoldaten heading straight for your base?
every faction blobs, not just USA
US has the best machinegun in the game and tanks with HE rounds. |
Sturmpioneers? I don't think you know who the Volkssturm were.
The Volkssturm were basically conscripts armed with anything Germany could find (including french, american, soviet, etc weapons scavenged from armouries). They consisted of workers, first war veterans, policemen, rear echelon personnel, teenagers, the elderly, and anyone else the Nazis could get their hands on for their last stand army. |
In other words, the easiest answer to blobbing is to blob harder.
Personally I don't think it should be that way, MG's should not be a suggestion to retreat or die, it should be a demand. In that regard, I really miss CoH1 MG teams. The only time I've seen those overrun was playing a bridge map against the Soviet AI in Easten Front mod. 10 eight man Conscript squads were the only thing I've ever seen overrun an MG 42 in that game. In this game, all it takes is 2 squads 10 - 15 meters apart, flanking or tactics not required. |
This has always been a problem with a blob big enough, it's just more prominent now that the US have M1919's. |
The reason the Rifleman is so bright green is just for gameplay reasons. It's an RTS, unit recognition is extremely important, so most colours are exaggerated. |
This is what Riflemen and Airborne look like in-game:
