I still think that either of these units, brought along with a main army to barrage just before a main assult makes a huge difference, yes it needs to be used in close proximity, good. Who wants to get owned by something 2 screen away.
Just like any other unit, it shouldnt be a stand alone counter to half an enemys army. It should soften them up for your own combined forces. |
I had an idea for a base rush, which revolves around the fact that penals satchel charge now destorys a bunker in one go.
Build:
T1
SC
Penal
Penal
Penal
MUNI CACHE
Penal
Guard
Guard
Cap and keep hold of as many munis as possible, harras with flamer SC. At some point, put a penal in SC, rush into their base and kill MG bunker, walk penal blob into base and kill anything that trys to defend, use satchels on T1+2, bring guards in to help. Try to get SC out alive and put engie back in, just incase an MG becomes a problem.
I have no idea if it could work in live play. Quite probably not, but would be funny.

Did you get the two commanders for the 'Make War Not Love' promotion, thats the Ppsh and T34/85 doctrine and the German air superiority doctrine.
If not, MVGame, because Relic wont allow us to buy them yet seen as we missed getting them for free |
Tigers are totally manageable. With the right combination they are easy to manage, but certain soviet builds which can dominate early mid game simply fall flat on their face if a tiger comes out.
t1+2 is powerful as soviets, but yeah main problem then is manpower, not CPs. |
AC spam vs USA was not fun to play against. Then of course there was 'bullet proof' PE blob strat which was totall BS. Thank god coh2 has not devolved into this kind of play yet. |

I've always wanted to flank from different sides with 2 T34, ram and use bomb strike.
I've only ever managed that against tigers, and even with crew shock it still recovers and moves out the way in time |
Hard to beat langres summer. Nearly always a good game.
2v2 Moscow outskirts ( either version) is cool.
Kharkov is turning into a bit of a classic |
I'm pretty sure the German sniper re-cloaks faster than the soviet one can fire back (provided its in cover and the soviet one has just fired). So you then force the remaining one man to retreat.. Or possibly just hold fire, which isn't a problem if you continue to hold fire.
If he does retreat, then that's time off the field and manpower. Even if u don't kill it, the idea is to neutralise its impact. Then once you have the vet ability, try to use that. |
This is just a random idea, but they could start with a few sectors already capped, additional capping could be slow.
Or yeah a mechanic which slowed down the enemy capture rate. |
I've been thinking about how the new German army could capture territory differently, it would make sense (historically), if they somehow started with more territory, or possibly acquired it slower, but somehow it was harder to de-cap their territory.
I can't think how that could be implemented well, but I bet they have tried to make them feel like an army on the back foot.
