Yeah thats a kinda scary thought. Hopefully wont work out like that.

That wasn't hull down, it was the KV-2 assault mode. Looks like it becomes immobile, but fires like a mortar... A VERY powerful mortar.
Oh sweet. I was talking about the KV-2 last week, and wondering how it could vary from the IS-2.. seen as it was never going to be heavy AT. I suggested it might have an ability similar to the AVRE Churchil.. looks like a good guess |
Molotovs might be nice. But on the other hand, Rnades are slightly harder to dodge, due to range they get, and give instant damage (even if its a bit too random).
Wheres as molotovs are much easier to dodge, due to the short range of the throw, even if you miss the initial throw its not too bad to get out a second or two late.

My typical build goes t1-t4,
SU85s go really nice with KV-1s.. but how do you deal with light vehicles? They could cripple you early. |
Have they revealed the new commanders yet? |
+1 tuvok.
I was about to say, its sounds like you are relying on Guards motor (guards and 120mm).
There are several commanders that work nicely with T3.
My favorites are:
Shock Motor; this will give you shocks to own his inf, you can rush a T70 out instead of getting guards. It also gives you ZiS camo, to give a damage buff, and then calling in an IS2 at the point in the game you begin to struggle, will seal the deal most of the time.
I also like Mechanised Support, which gives you guards, ZiS camo, mark target and then an ISU152. |
I would certainly agree that coh can cause rage. I used to get extremely angry when I was trying to learn coh1, which I came to late hence having to fight experienced players constantly.
The same can be said for my old flat mate, who despite rating coh as one of the best games ever, had to stop playing it because it enfuriated him so much. (and he is a lead level designer for a big games studio).
The main reasons I think coh can make people mad is because:
1) its such an amazing game, that we really want to win at it.
2) Unless you are very experienced at the game, simply not understanding why you are losing/ have lost, enduces rage, because all you see is the 'OP unit' or blob of troops etc.. not the 50 mistakes you made before that point to allow it to happen.
It takes a lot of practise, just to compete at a reasonable level.. never mind win.
Luckily, as you understand the game more, you realise your losing a game much earlier.. so when a game breaking unit /combo turns up, you were already expecting it, and it is not rage enducing anymore.
Luckily for me, I seem to fare much better in coh2, and dont really get mad. I tend to put this down to being on more of a level playing field with the player base, in terms of amount of practise. And I guess just generally not being as much of a newb. |

Thanks a lot for the cast.
Bit of a funny game, but it demonstrates one of my favorite (and underused) abilities: Conscript repair package.
I prefer it to the more widely used Self Repair, because with a conscript heavy build, its free and can very quickly bring tanks back into the fight, which if you want T3 to be sucessful is essential for keeping the pressure on.
In this replay I was a little late bringing Shock troops out, which would have helped with map control earlier. But they did see off his capping squads, which is why I ended with majority map control.
The idea with this strat, is keep mounting pressure and attempt to ram and flank enemy tanks, I was close to 6CP, at which point you can call on IL-2 bomb drop to eliminate rammed heavy enemy armour. |
