All decent OKW players I see make good use of Volks, who are a great unit. Tough, great scaling via shrecks, free grenade, amazing veterancy, there isn't a game where I don't get 3 of them, sometimes 4, and they rarely fail me. As soon as they hit vet 1 and I get my truck, conscripts cannot compete anymore, and at vet 2 they can start standing up to unupgraded rifles if in cover. And once allied infantry becomes too powerful? OKW has a bevy of powerful elite infantry, and bar the Falls they are all very cost-effective. OKW probably has the best infantry roster in the game, and Volks are very much a good part of that. You won't find a top OKW player that ever says Volks suck. Sorry. Because they are a good unit. so you start your volks with vet 1 then? im about to report you for hacking. also i tend to dodge the grenades of enemy players. also once they reach vet 1 and 2 is the is also means scripts and rifleman reach vet 1 and 2. It's time to find a new hobby. i never said that did i? i said some aspects of the okw are a bit up, volks among them. this is also a minor issue and volks only needs a minor buff. but some idiots here cannot post anything without blowing things out of context. volks are currently a cost ineffective unit compared to other factions baseline infantry. yes units gain vet and okw vet is the strongest of all vets in the game. but vet 4 and 5 are not their to make an unit on par with other units its their to reward an okw player with a much more powerful unit then the other factions. vet 4 and 5 is also not easily given yet some tards believe volks start with vet 5. elchino7 foolishly posted comparisons and proved my point. the dps between scripts and volks is near identical at close and mid range. scripts however have 1 more men then the volks and will win every encounter at those ranges. scripts also have more utility. the combination of oorah at nades and molotovs makes them more flexible. the grenades of the volks are useful no doubt but the ability to deny an enemy heavy cover with molotovs is even better. a 90 ammo shrek is overpriced but its still decent support at. but tanks are primarily destroyed if they are engine damaged at are far better support at then a single shrek. Past vet0 cons will not win without lucky model focusing while volks will endure easily and they can support themselves with potent non upgraded needed nades. Cons beat Volks by a hairline at close range. The volks vet looks really good as well with all that received accuracy. This is such a idiotic argument. units need to perform at vet 0 because you have plenty of early game battles to win with volks. if they do not perform then they are underpowered and need buffs.=. people seem to forget that us and soviets get veterancy as well. the impact of vet 4 and 5 is not nearly as great as some people like to believe. not to mention its not even certain you can get vet 4 or 5 and the for the volks vet 1 , 2 and 3 are the weakest of any infantry unit in the game. It only starts to fail when you put it up against superior numbers of EZ8 and T34/85, which can be massed due to no teching cost. OKW has plenty of infantry with very high anti-infantry DPS. Volks also scale a lot better than conscripts with nice veterancy bonus, a AT weapon upgrade, and grenades that don't require an upgrade. They also have a doctrinal ability that gives them assault grenades for only 10 ammo. I don't see the need to make volks even better. Adjusting the Kubelwagen is a much better route to take for improving the OKW early game. Your wrong. veterancy is their to make an unit more powerful and not to make them viable. its a retarded argument i wish people stop using it. units should be viable from vet 0 so we look at the statistics we see this: volks do 35% less damage then grens. that's very bad efficiency even counting in the extra survivability of the extra volks. combine this with the lack of a faust this makes the volks the worst starting unit in the game. that the okw has access to high dps units like obers or fsj does not change the fact that you start the game with 1000 mp of death weight that doesnt scale or provide utility. e8's and 85's have no business being even remotely a threat to a dedicated tank destroyer. panthers main gun damage needs to be upped from 160 to 240 and its hp upped to 960. Thread: Okw Balance3 Sep 2014, 09:59 AM Their are 3 minor issues that need to be resolved before the okw becomes viable in 1vs1. the first and foremost issue is the panther. its supposed to be the main AT heavy tank but its very under powered for what it is doing. its very difficult to hold back soviet or American medium armor spam in 1vs1 2. call ins need to be tied to tiers. okw doesnt have any good call ins that allows it hoard massive amount of fuels and then deploy 4 85's or e8's it needs to tech and use fuel and mp giving the allies an advantage. 3. and the a minor issue but still important is that volks are currently the worst starting infantry in the game. having non of the abilities of the scripts or the raw dps of the grens volks simply do not scale well unless you reach vet 4 or 5 where they finally become viable. but units should be viable from the start and not wiat until vet.
