Thread: Soviets dealing with heavy late german armor2 Feb 2016, 20:27 PM Yesterday evening I took out a KT with a lone t34/85. The KT hit a mine coming in to support the fallschirms that popped out to cap the VP. I was able to chase off the falls without them fausting, and caught the KT at the best possible moment. We lost the game, but I was able to circle strafe the KT to death. It's rear armor bounced my shots 5 times, and I also missed point blank twice, but I managed to kill it without even taking a shot from the KT. I got the moral victory there. But the point is, without infantry support, units like elefants and KTs can be killed without even getting a shot off on their assailant if positioning is used correctly. If there's a KT, focus on what is supporting it. If there's a KT covered by an Elefant covered by a Sturmpanzer, then well, . In: COH2 Balance

Thread: Penalties to AT squads2 Feb 2016, 07:13 AM Yeah schrecks on Volks give them insane rates of veterancy. It's so easy to bring a vet 0 volks to vet 5 with a schreck. Even when they blast apart infantry with the schreck they got a ton of xp, (as it's about damage, not kills.) Having volks jump 2 levels of vet in a single engagement is not at all uncommon. Volks are also one of the cheapest infantry to reinforce. Cheap to maintain, and extremely easy to replace wiped squads and get vetted. But OKW doesn't have any snares, so instead it has these jackass panzerschrecks. For comparison, the other stock unit that gets schrecks: panzergrenadiers, are expensive to field, expensive to maintain, and are only 4 man squads which are considerably more fragile than a 5 man squad. So here's my idea. The AT package should make the fifth volks explode into a bloody mist and leave behind a panzerschreck from which his former squadmates must salvage from the misshapen husk that he once was. Sure, it made it easier to get out MGs a few seconds quicker as Ostheer, but that wasn't ever an issue. I do remember USF overwhelming Ostheer's comparative inability to field an army though. Thread: vehicle crew repair bug2 Feb 2016, 02:17 AM I think it's a hold over from pre-WFA. Before vehicle crews for USF it was considered a valid effect/risk. But it's a programming issue, the toggle itself is flagged to be disabled when the unit is in combat. There are workable changes, but they'd require reworking the ability, which is beyond Relic's scope (based on precedence.) The fact that the vehicle is immobile and incapable of fighting has always seemed a little much and it never made complete sense. A pioneer shooting at max range will permanently disable the vehicle until it's out of combat for a nominal time period again. Considering a lot of things can shoot outside their sight range, any kind of ambush on a self repairing vehicle is devastating. Treat vehicle crew repair as you would reloading a Sturmpanzer. Jaegers and Fallschirms have effectively deleted my self repairing IS-2s many a time until I stopped using it in favor of just keeping engineers around and alive. In: COH2 Bugs

Thread: Buildings: The unclaimed meta30 Jan 2016, 17:49 PM Grenades and flames make units in buildings sad. Tossing grenades in the doorways is also good times for the particularly hoppy player. And mortars are great at dealing damage to garrisoned squads and destroying buildings, but they tend to take a while. They're a good idea if you're one of the two factions with easy access to a mortar team. In: COH2 Gameplay

The ability costs 60mun to repair all structures and works while braced. The repair rate is faster than the damage rate while braced. The ability should have to be applied to each structure individually and shouldn't work while brace is active. QFT. That or Brace reduces repair rate as much as it does damage. In: COH2 Balance
