Fully agree: this CE is the worst CE I have ever seen. How it can even be called a "Collectors Edition" when there is nothing to collect is beyond me. It is a fully digital release (except for the few steelboxes, which make up for like 1% of sales) so the "CE" title is terribly chosen.
You'd expect a damn lot of extra content when you pay for a Collectors Edition that has exactly zero goodies to go with it. Not so: you get a few silly skins, some singleplayer content most of us don't care about and a lousy faceplate some designer couldve made in an hour or so.
I really feel ripped off with this CE, it absolutely didn't give value for money one bit.
+1 epic ripoff, and the steam store description for CE is blatant false advertising. "25 camos" yeah right, more like 7-8 different camos counted three different times for the different vehicle types rofl. And when I preordered there was no commander information preview where I could see that the "extra" stuff was actually the same abilities I already owned reconfigured. Game has only been out for 3 months and three of the tournament winners have already stopped playing. |
I'd prefer if we have Seasons on COH2 like on SC2, like 3 or 6 months after which stats will be resetted
This. Balance will never be great anyways (see coh1) |
It looks like that he is banned on steam already.

VAC bans on record, not surprised |
The IS2 as a unit is fine now imo, but the cost isn't. At first I liked the idea of paying fuel for doctrinal tanks, but in implementation it just means you are forced to skip mid game armor completely or get your end game tank much later than expected. Manpower only please, that system worked fine in vcoh for every tank except PE Panthers. |
I find that Grens with LMGs handily beat Shocks for cost over the long term in a war of attrition. Shocks cost almost as much as 2 Grens. Sure 2 sets of LMG42s are very expensive, but it's a one time fee in contrast to the constant man power drain of reinforcements.
HMG42s were overnerfed. If they buff HMG42s back a bit, then lmg42s may be toned down. Pretty much every top German player now is going pure Gren spam now.
+1
link0 knows what he is talking about, can't say the same for some people
Basically, what I'm trying to say is, Germans are already a munition starved faction, if your opponent is going fast mg-42s you should be happy, just avoid that one squad unless you can hit it in force, take his cut-offs and camp buildings like there is no tomorrow. Then laugh as your t-34s come and shit all over his grens.
That is true on some maps if your cutoff has a building next to it. But if you just let him sit on your cutoff then you will be really far behind in the teching war. And you can't just play a slow paced backtech for "combined arms" approach like you could do in vcoh because you will get owned by 5-6 minute FHT/AC |
Thread: GTA V18 Sep 2013, 21:38 PM
Played about 6 hours since I got it last night and within like 3 missions it was really obvious the characters are a lot better this time around. Huge upgrade from dull Niko and his fat ass cousin.
Driving is better, I agree. It's still not a driving game, so when put up against something like Need For Speed: Most Wanted it's not as good, but it's serviceable and usually fun.
I've played about 3 hours and the only bad thing I can say is that Rockstar really likes giving annoying missions at times. I want to be running around doing awesome stuff but I got roped into a side quest to work as a tow truck driver which was quite frustrating.
lol ikr I just finished one of those. If that crackhead asks me to do it for a 3rd time I'm going to do the world a favor and introduce her to Mr. 9mm

Veterancy gain is identical for Cons and Grens.
Its 75% from dmg done. 25% from dmg received.
Grens and Cons do almost identical dmg, and have almost identical survival.
No, and no. In the context of actual gameplay the Grens can spend a good bit of time shooting at suppressed squads that barely even shoot back. And they have rifle grenades that do a lot of damage on impact, whereas a molotov does a very slow burn over time effect that is easily negated even if you don't dodge it. Plus if they get a reasonably priced LMG upgrade their damage output increases exponentially. So for no doctrine and easily affordable munition expenditures they have far superior firepower immediately and a huge increase in survivability at vet 2. Even with a 2 CP doctrinal upgrade the conscripts are still inferior pound for pound and because of the reasons I just listed so they will surely be losing the veterancy war.
We don't want to simply compare LMG performance to vanilla Cons in a "vacuum", do we.
No, we compared them to literally every infantry unit the Soviets have, including upgraded Cons.
If you want some more credibility go play Soviets for a change, your German-only stats qualify you to be nothing more than a theorycrafter. |
You are suppossed to use combined arms tactic while playing Soviets. Use couple of units together to achieve the goal. Sorry but this comparison is pointless. As someone have said in different topic you shouldn't compare units in vaccum.
Why do people keep trying give such obvious tips when I've been playing this game at a somewhat high level since early 2012. FYI comparing units in a vacuum is implying that you are directly comparing 2 units of similar value against each other, such as T34 vs Panzer 4. I'm comparing the entire Soviet infantry arsenal to a single cheap T1 unit, and for most of them there is a large cost discrepancy. FYI combined arms is when you use one units strenghts to counteract your other unit(s) weakness e.g. Snipers kill infantry while SU85 kills tanks. Some of those Soviet units don't even have strenghts, and if they do it is not enough of a "strength" to justify their cost (Shocktroops, Penals, etc). |
Try using combined arms - you're forgetting support teams and vehicles. It's not like the grenadiers spawn with the upgrade, so don't just compare it to infantry as if it's still the opening minutes.
By the way, Shocks are not slightly better - they are much better.
I added the support teams. Vehicles don't matter because it takes 4-5min for Germans to get enough units to march to your cutoff and hold it for a while. This is more of a 1v1 problem than in 2v2, because these "combined arms" you speak of leave you very vulnerable to someone that knows what they are doing. T1 without Guards is suicide if he gets T2 vehicles, and early T2 is unable to deal with a mass of T1 units. T1 + Guard doctrine is the only real answer, and you shouldn't be so limited. And Shocks are easily beaten with the right units.
Why are you saying the Maxim is supposed to kill them - pinning and forcing a retreat is a won engagement.
Sounds good in theory if the guy is bad enough to bunch all his units together. This thread wasn't aimed at mid-low level balance. |
Vanilla Conscript vs LMG Gren- don't even bother
PPSH Conscript vs LMG Gren- doctrine specific and still inferior
Molotovs- does very minimal damage unless you get a lucky crit, and easily dodged
Shocks- doctrine specific and 2x cost but only slightly better
Penals- too expensive and suck
Guards- they are decent but grenade is overpriced and the weapon drop rate is ludicrious
Sniper- only reliable counter, and early T1 forces a doctrine with Guards or easily punished by German T2 vehicles
Maxim- nerfed too hard, doesn't kill enough now
Mortars- relying on luck= no bueno |
