This coming weekend 32 Players will compete for their chance to book a place at GCS2 in September. Either by winning the qualification tournament outright or getting as far as possible and accumulating GCS2 points.
This is a full schedule of streams and structure for GCS2 Qualification Tournament 3: 'Overlord'.
On both days the games will start at 14:00 BST, to check your timezone please see the GCS2 Schedule
________________________
Day 1 - Saturday 14th July
Bracket quarters go 1 -> 4 downward, based on an example bracket that looks like this. Final brackets to be released on GCS2.ORG following check ins.
Players featured depend on check-ins, the numbers in brackets are seeds.
As there is a lot of action on Day 1 we need as much help as we can get, but we want as little overlap as possible!
ostheerSecondary Streams
If you see a round 1 or round 2 match that needs to be live cast please feel free to pick it up.
State below if you plan on running a secondary stream!
However: Please only cast those games. The quarter finals are reserved for the above casters, thank you for helping!

RUNon-English language streams
I would like to request that only countries with low percentage understanding of English have a non-English language stream where possible? This is because our community is rather small and I want to ensure very little overlap. For example:
We would like one well produced show, with both semis, 3rd place play off, and final to be shown in order. With all viewers in one channel it'll get us noticed on Twitch and help our scene grow also!
There will be a 2 hour intermission at around 16:00 BST to allow for the World Cup final, we will leave our stream running, so you can chat with us and no football fan has a tough decision to make.
I've been in talks with the GCS2 elders and we have decided to allow trees entry into the next qualification torunament. Congratulations trees, let's see where you go form here.
Yeah I can go with that. You're both saying it's the best thing we have right now and it's surely worthy of discussion, but I'd agree it's not enough to draw conclusions for the most part.
I think the Brits thing is a lot easier to prove with this data though, due to the top players not even playing Brits any more, but that's more the reason the sample size is small etc.
IMO the only way to reliably measure faction balance is to take any top percentage (like top 10% or 20%) of automatch players so the sample size will be big enough (in the thousands) while also using players who will generally understand the game and play the mechanics to their full potential.
What I'm saying is for this game this is the only way to reliably measure faction balance. You're talking about thousands? There's only a few hundred people that play this game efficiently, I myself am capable of getting into the top 200 and I am a very casual 28yo 1v1 automatcher that works a 40 hour week job...
You're honestly looking at 50 "tournament players" that are the best 1v1 automatch players, they're one and the same. There's just a few people that can't travel for gcs purposes like Luciano, Paula etc. but other than that there's pretty much no one else.
This is reliable data.
Don't forget the wildcard brackets too, 40 additional games there our sample size is 180 games in tourney conditions from the best players, it will rise to 320 by the end of July..........
Even when we hit 360 tourney games in ideal test conditions between top players, I bet you people are still talking about phantom 1000s of automatch players and what is "significant".
There are two ways to gather datasets for faction ballance problem.
One is automatch. It fails due to low awerness of game mechanics.
The other is tourneys. This one fails becouse small number of players induces bias.
There is no way around that. The more data you will gather and the smaller the population of players tested, the bigger bias you will get. So the trend in the data will not mean anything on its own. What can mean something is a difference in results between two big enough datasets based on same players, but I highly doubt there will ever be a single tournament based dataset like that big enough to support any conclusions.
What on earth are you on about, this isn't just 'some' players these are the best players in the world playing the game as efficiently as they can on the best maps we have....
you now have 151 games in your data set.
It satisfies any quality or quantity measurement you need.
You will never get a better opportunity to judge faction strength in 1v1 than this.
Great casts AE, very enjoyable as always.
Only real feedback I could give is to try to upload the videos to YouTube in chronological order so the videos overview will look much more organized, which would help people find the next video better and would give it a more professional look.
It is impossible unfortunately I have tried and tried, but the way Twitch uploads to Youtube means it's very unpredictable so if I want to get it all done in around 3 hours I have to make that sacrifice.
